Oddly taste is individual. Expensive does not mean tasty. taste is more important than price. Unless you have low self esteem and feel the need to flex stronger than the need to drink something you enjoy.

It's all about personal tastes. They've proven time and time again that even the "professionals" can't reliably tell the difference between expensive and cheap wines. When it comes down to it, just drink what you enjoy.

I worked at state run liquor stores in poor, average, and wealthy towns, and learned a ton about wine. I also tried many different varieties and brands, and I've found that as long as you don't buy the straight up bottom shelf stuff, you're good to go. Anything beyond that seems to be dropping dollars just because you can.

To be fair it depends a lot on personal taste. The problem is that every grape tastes different so you have to have the perfect reference wine for a certain grape to judge the quality and I think that is the case for a small portion of people.

That's because Gary actually said 1, like you can also see and hear in the shot at 10:17. The mistake was in the interface, which should have said #1 for Gary, but him not getting a point was correct.
