Rudy isn't on the Jazz anymore, this Wolves team is so much more dangerous defensively. To even get to Rudy, there's Ant, McDaniels, Conley, NAW, Naz Reid, Kyle Anderson, even KAT when he's playing hard is a decent defender. I don't see the Suns solving all of that, not in a playoff series where the Wolves are going to be going all out, and pushing themselves to the max. They're one of the hungriest looking teams.

@@thekidshere6955 very true but "They" say Rudy can't play against small ball. He gets played off the court. You can't get any smaller then what the Sun's run. Which Rudy plays great against. Real fact is Rudy has never had the perimeter help like he does on the Wolves. Utah was trash on D outside of Rudy and O'Neal. Wolves arguably don't have a weak link.

That was a cool edit where you showed KAT defend Beal for the cross over middie, and then see Rudy guard the same move. That was effective for the viewer.

KATS defense on both was good. Good shot making by kd and Beal. Tip your cap there, that’s the league. KAT also went into kd for a basket plus. And yeah ANT cooked kd 😂

Guard KD straight up with KAT and don’t let Beal or Booker go off. Hammer em on the boards and points in the paint. Aside from shooting a ridiculous FG% I don’t see how Phx can overcome the size and length disparity.

That's what happened, but it wasn't because Minnesota went big per se. Minnesota was actually a -11 for the game with KAT and Gobert both on the floor. Them going small actually really helped.

whats crazy is i know this dude doesnt watch much wolves. their whole point is to let kd cook. he can score 60 points they dont care.. the same reason they have kat and kyle anderson guard jokic. they choose to make 4 guys lives miserable instead of looking to lock up all 5 spots. "letting kd cook" is exactly what will have pheonix lose in 6 games. the exact thing you dont wanna do against the wolves.

Letting KD cook is what the wolves want. It's shutting down Booker and Beal that is what the Wolves are doing. If Booker or Beal doesn't step up, it's going to be a short series even if KD cooks. We all know no one is stopping KD besides KD.

Yeah KD will score regardless, he's just that good. Might as well use our best defenders to slow down Booker and Beal - they are the initiators of the Suns offense and they set it up. Shutting them down mucks up the Suns ball movement and offensive system. It forces KD to take a bunch of tough iso 2s and that's a hard way for a team to win

Nice breakdown. I think we're going to see a lot more screen action designed to get McDaniels off booker and on to someone else to allow Booker more open looks. But I could see the Wolves responding to that with a small ball lineup with McDaniels at the 4 and NAW at the 3 to handle those switches. This is arguably the most interesting match up in the western conference. Both teams are so different. Suns have the best two players on the court but the wolves have a seemingly endless bench of 3 & D guys to throw at the suns. My biggest question is whether the suns have more tricks in their bag. I've watched the wolves play multiple styles of ball this year and I suspect Finch has something unique ready for game 2. But do the Suns? Or is the plan for KD, Booker and Beal to just power them to a series win? There's enough star power there that they could.
