Win it in '26? Of course not, but I would be delighted to see us advance to Knockout and get one win in that round. Can he win it in '30, '34, or beyond? Possible, if they give him the time to shape US soccer development in those years to come. I hope he (a) establishes himself with solid play right away, (b) is given the freedom to bench/fire the current dead weight, and (c) left alone to build his team.

Very well said. What will it take for Pochettino to extend his contract past 2026? It seems like this might be a convenient opportunity for him (PR, lots of $), and then he'll go back to coaching on the European side.

Appreciate the video, but nope. If this team reaches the quarters, they can hold their head high about a job well done. I think that's a pretty realistic assessment. We should expect them to at least get out of the group stage though.

with the expansion the 8 best 3rd place teams go through so what do you think

Thanks for watching! The general consensus seems to be that reaching the quarterfinals would be considered a success. Do you think they have a better chance of making the semifinals, or not getting out of the group stage?

This will likely give the USMNT a better chance of making it out of the group stage, but not necessarily a better shot at reaching the finals or winning, as the knockout stage teams will be very tough competition.
