According to the maximum transfer theorem, Impedance should match with the can bus and 120 ohm resistance, so that maximum data can be transferred between the ECU

according to maximum power transfer theorem source impedance is equal to load impedance (R1*R2)/(R1+R2)=(120*120)/(120+120)=60 ohms. every transceiver is having internal resistance of 60 ohms and these two resisters are connected in parallel.

Because as per the ISO standards nominal impedance of the wire is 120 ohm so we use 120 ohms resistors both side in the wire

if you change the 120 Ohm resistance value, we will not match the expected rise time and fall time of CAN_H and CAN_L signal as per ISO 11898 std.

Actually every ECU's impedence is 60ohms actually CANbus impedence imedence is bus endding 120 ohms bus startting 120ohms actually impedence is parallel connection So, parallel formula is (R1*R2) /(R1+R2) Substitute the 120 ohms (120*120)/(120+120)=60ohms Results " ECU impedence 60ohms, bus impedence is also 60ohms" Bus impedence don't connect the 100ohms,150ohms (Must and should only connectted 120ohms)

Hi! In Canoe I get CanBus Off ,my project is hybrid flexray+ can_fd,what is can_fd and shouls I place 2 resistor on the terminal?

120 ohms because it depends on the length/area which we are using in the network

every controller send 60ohms noise to the bus,bus comprises of two 120 ohms resistsance in parallel .so that by doing impedence equation ,we will get 60 ohms resistance .so that noise will get reduce.

What will happen if we give wrong dlc value in can frame?for eg.dlc as 9

120*120/120+120=60ohms. Every ECU have 60ohms,all values are not matched 60 ohms.only suitable for 120 ohms.other values are not required
