NFL is a highly specialised sport. Every player only needs to do a couple of things very well. But rugby 7s is totally different. Every player on the pitch must be quick, agile, jump high, tackle, have good ball handling skills, stamina and endurance. In a one on one test like straight line speed, the best NFL players win hands down. But straight line speed isn't good enough in rugby. You need to be agile, switch directions quickly, decelerate and accelerate instantaneously, and after that, make big tackles and lift up a teammate to catch high balls (or in lineouts in 15s), and run non-stop for the entire game. I would say that the 7s player would be a better all round athlete. It's just the nature of the sport. Both sports are just different.

i like how the rugby fans don't even realize a number of important facts 1) this is professional athletes vs school boy teenagers 2) this stadium is in England...why? because the NFL academy is in England. These schoolboys are not Americans. The academy is for students outside the usa that want to try and play college football in the usa.

These are children bro. Foreign teenagers. There is a reason they didn’t find a 5 star wr or rb recruit lol, would’ve made those 7s guys look slow asf

4:40 the fastest rugby is 4:71.....which is slower than the AVERAGE nfl player at wide receiver, running back, cornerback, free safety.

Jason Robinson and Bryan Habana would have destroyed this..

@ 1) these aren’t ‘the greatest’ athletes in rugby. 7’s isn’t even as big of a sport as league, let alone rugby Union. 2) I didn’t comment on the comparison between these athletes, I said Bryan habana and Jason Robinson would destroy the combine. 3) Christian wade wasn’t even a good winger, LRZ was world class and is still just a kid. Bryan habana and Jason Robinson were the pinnacle of rugby athleticism. Now we’re onto players like Trae Williams, who are bigger and faster than even the likes of tyreek hill.

World Rugby, you do realise that if you keep celebrating how amazing American football is they're never going to watch rugby and realise it's better. Stop glazing a sport that's basically a power point presentation with ad breaks over your own.

Yeah should have proper NFL players in this challenge. Not teenage academy boys

Rugby League have better athletes suited for NFL. Union too slow. Jordan Mailata didn’t even make the top league here in Australia called NRL and is now one of the top offensive linemen in the whole NFL. As for the kicking side of things former AFL players or people with Aussie rules experience in Australia via Pro Kick is taking over the NFL right now.

Why this fascination with making it in NFL? I am really uninterested in it as a game. I will stick to rugby thank you. The one that doesn't need another word to describe it.

Not even a competition, Sevens athletes are levels above almost any athletes

WR should focus on markets which Actually have a genuine interest in rugby... stop ruining our game with rule changes to appeal to Americans... they're just not that into rugby.... I'd like to see the NFL boys compete against the Fijian and SA boys.... I suspect it would be a very different picture....
