Honestly I could relate to him my dad left when I was 8 I still remember when he walked out with his luggage not even looked back once to say bye to me or my brother 2 years later I found out he was in jail in DR and I really try having a relationship with him last time I saw him I was 15 I’m 33 now 34 on Dec1 it’s been hard especially knowing all the this he did to my mom all the trauma he caused me no 5 or 7 year old kid aren’t supposed to hide knives under my bed cuz he try killing her when I was 5 knowing my brother and I was watching the whole commotion cheating the beatings we witnessed all that and he abused us by hitting us with tv cables or broom sticks. Years after when I was 28 I gave him a chance to be in my life the only thing I asked him was to get to know my kids and myself and maybe our relationship as daughter and father could finally be but no he was interested in the money not to know me our my kids so when I could send him money he had the audacity to say “forget u have a father” 🤔🙄 like really u haven’t been there don’t know have of the shit we been through since the time he walked out and he has the balls to say that, I forgave him but I don’t interact with him at all cuz when I do he hurts me all over again and I’m too happy at this moment to have a selfish person like him trying to play dad after all this years
