I’m surprised I’ve never heard anyone suggest that Zipcaster give temporary Intensify Action buffs (or remove jump rng entirely after a zip) and be compatible with Drop Roller. I think those would be useful buffs that would open up a lot of weapons to use it easier. (Luna Blaster is a current example)

I do agree with what you are talking about, more diverse and viable playstyles is something that's always welcomed as someone who tends to like more slower/tactical playstyles in shooters (which generally tend to be frowned upon for more hyper aggressive/dive metas in most shooters). I remember Gem mentioning at one point in time about the severe lack of Inkjet weapons that are currently in game (there's only two Inkjet weapons in the game currently, and only one kinda works with the rest of the kit while the Ballpoint would had much preferred something else being a backlineish weapon), so I think that not only that there should be more good zipcaster weapons but more good weapons in general with aggressive specials. Also, I think that most of the aggressive specials (Zipcaster, Inkjet, Ultra Stamp, Reefslider, Tacticooler) could use some sort of buff/tweak in some way to make them more appealing to use as most of them are either on weapons that don't work well with them, or are generally lackluster compared to the better specials ingame, or both.

The worst one is easily Clam Blitz. The fact that you cant throw clams while its active is so bad, it mea s you cant use Zipcaster to start a puch, since even if you do get some kills, you wont be able to open the basket, and then by the time you recall and walk all the way to the basket, the enemies will be back. The only use case is to give jumps to teammates when the basket is already open, but you can do the same thing with Big Bubbler or Crab Tank, or Booyah Bomb, and all of those actually work to start a push as well.

TC easily own tier since you can affect the objective RM close 2nd again easy assination and can even fly thru shield CB, still useful for off angles, recall can give jumps, but the maps make it a bit easier to not need it Own fuckin tier SZ, can't use it to paint zone cause ull recall fast, easiest to wait out zip, teams are most clumped to shoot it down.

If you could store charge in zipcaster, Nautilus could be an excellent zip weapon. Activate zip, full charge, zip to the anchor or crab tank, delete them with high dps, recharge, zip to the next target, repeat. It doesn't lose accuracy while midair, either, similar to most current zip weapons.

One thing that makes me question about zipcaster is when you zip to a specific location and get attacked by an enemy player, you'd hear invincibility frames and yet die quiet sometimes. Is that just the delay between the enemy's wifi connection and mine or am I missing smth out?

the invincibility doesn’t last forever because zip doesn’t have true invincibility. it has a small HP buff. so if someone shreds your armor (the HP buff) and then keeps shooting they’ll kill you. getting your armor shred has a similar sound effect to the invincibility sound effect like squid roll or splat2 armor. hope this helps

in my experience tri stringer fights zip really well, you can 1shot them like a charger but you can also shoot the explosives to where they're gonna land and then just 1tap so it does pretty well

I feel like a good buff to zip caster would be to drastically slow down or completely stop the timer when you’re stuck to a wall. That way there’s a trade off where you can pressure the other team for longer and be more methodical and slow when you need too, but you also leave your team without a player. I think it could work but it might also be very broken

I love Zipcaster, but I hate the current Zipcaster weapons. I'd love something like Splash with Zip, or Reeflux with Zip, or hell even something like Range Blaster with Zip. I'd love the opportunity to use Zipcaster with a weapon I'm good at, or at least want to try. Although I'm super hesitant to put Zip on Splash, because then I fear it would devolve into Splash v Neo Splash which would still suck

why do you think so simple? why not TWO rps circles? or THREE? here is a rps circle i have though of big bubbler/hammer-> killer wail/missles->hp specials/vacuum->big bubbler/hammer->etc. the changes: -big bubbler now also blocks killer wail. -hammer is granted partial immunity against damage from special weapons. barely enough to survive a booyah bomb -vacuum can now cancel its charge and fire imediatly by pressing R. -vacuum can't suck up missles anymore (fun fact: yes it can do that) -uncharged vacuum projectiles have drasticly less range than charged projectiles. (like charges) another rps circle i was thinking of was the backliner circle. charger->splattling->stringer for that to work long range splattlings would need massive buffs that aren't focused on damage per second, since they definitely have the advantage there. a good stringer can easily take out a splattling at the moment due to them being so vunerable. perhaps more paint? quicker partial charges like the ballpoint has? we need a fuckton more backliner options in splatoon. cause at the moment we have about 6 backline weapons (4 chargers, hydra and stringer)

I think zipcaster should have its arm stretch re-mapped to the L button and give you the ability to throw a bomb mid special with R. The cost of the bomb in zip form would have to be slightly reduced, encouraging closer but riskier recall spots in order to have the ink needed to use said bomb by the time you reach your target.

Unfortunately I don’t think they will ever allow you to use subs in zipcaster because it would be absolutely broken with beacons. The ability to easily transport your team to basically anywhere on the map (Including some very glitchy spots) would break the game 100%.

Even if the bombs would drain the special duration at the same level as the ink tank, just like using the main weapon does, subs like burst bombs would still be good on it.
