@@samf.s.7731 Sometimes it's just fun to mess around with physics in games. Garry's mod is that in purest form and something like half-life 2 is on the other end. @@samf.s.7731 Well, this is not the only hook in the game. Nintendo is being very coy with Tears and I think we still know very little about the overall gameplay loop. It's not one idea that makes a game worth playing. It's the whole game that makes the experience that's worth playing.

@@samf.s.7731 To me, it's that the systems are complimenting an already there structure. You still _can_ play TotK like old Zelda, or mess around with this or go for a bit of flexibility by incorporating traditional fighting style with physics play. I also think it's why something like Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts n' Bolts failed so hard. If they were doing TotK like that, all the traditional gameplay stuff would go away instead of existing alongside it. Balancing both of those so that it IS worth it to think outside the box but doesn't completely replace the original gameplay unless you _want it to_ is probably a huge part of making TotK work. They want to make it work, and they also want to make it so you don't become supremely overpowered by thinking outside of the box unless you BRAIN BLAST that hard.

to use your biker babe analogy i would argue that we aren't the ones who "grew up" and "became responsible" E3 simply lost the biker babe inside it; she hit a midlife crisis and under pressure of her parents (corporate bosses), she gave up her youthful ways and chased greed/corny bullshit. now E3 is a 50 year old single woman drunk at a bar wondering where all the single guys went, when in reality, she became something no single man would want we can all still appreciate a biker babe, no matter how mature and responsible we become; E3 is just not the same babe we knew. she's a trashy suit with a dwindling wallet where her heart used to be it's not us, it's her

I'm sorry but showing me a game on controlled environment where the people selling it are in control of everything is a different thing thanr getting my hands on it ahead of time along with many other games, with many other gamers. That second scenario, hard to sell broken stuff this way. There will questions that the developer has to answer, and info that must be provided. The less you know about a product you're buying, the more the likelihood of you being scammed increases. It's just common sense. Directs are no replacement for E3 and other gaming events.

@@samf.s.7731 I don’t disagree, but the only time the average person could get their hands on a demo, was within months launching. If E3 died, that wouldn’t stop. I think Nintendo was looking at the success of Roblox, Gary's Mod and Minecraft, with the 'glue' mechanic. The unpredictability factor of live E3 was a big part of what made it so good. It's weird that the most excited power for TotK imo is the ascension one. Maybe cuz it doesn't take as much creativity outta my lazy brain. Just find a ceiling and see where it takes you! Usually access to new hidden areas is either in front or below a game character (bomb the wall or floor) since we can always walk or fall... but looking upwards frequently to check will be a subtle new habit we'll have to adopt.

I understand peoples' fears about the map being too similar to BoTW - I was, too; but, thinking about it, A Link Between Worlds used a map almost identical to its predecessor and that game turned out pretty dang good.
