I noticed the following during the credits: -Gus and Vee are probably working together because behind Gus we see an banner 'demon realm-human realm exchange program' with the logo in the middle... Some symbolism: When Philip attaches himself to the Titan's heart, it's in a crucifix pose. He views himself as equal in goodness to Christ Himself. When Philip goes Kaiju-mode and begins to destroy the Boiling Isles, he proclaims: "I'll end this perdition MYSELF!" In Christianity, a perdition is a passage from mortal life to eternal suffering. Philip views the Demon Realm as literally Hell and intends on destroying it and its witchy inhabitants... Meanwhile, Luz sacrifices herself to save the Collector from Philip (after Philip rejects the Collector's forgiveness and attempts to shoot him in the back) and is given a second chance at life by the Titan Himself. Even briefly becomes one with the Titan, a worldly incarnation of His will. And if you consider Luz to be something akin to a sister for King, the Titan is also something of a Father to her (and likely all demons and witches, as they live and thrive through His flesh (the Isles) and blood (the portal)). So Luz is the (adopted) daughter of a Titan and Titan incarnate at once. As Belos, Philip always claimed he could communicate with the Titan but was a fake identity and a false prophet all along. While Luz is the Titan's one true chosen champion and hero. Philip had one last chance at redemption to finally admit he was wrong after all, but blew it by immediately lying through his teeth about being "cursed". He payed the price for it, being finished off by some of the closest people to family he had in the Demon Realm (it's somewhat implied/theorized that the Clawthornes are descended from Evelyn, which makes Philip an ancestral uncle to Eda). Edit: another thing that others have pointed out: Luz, Belos, and Collector all actually have similar backstories: Luz was always a weird kid. Other kids disliked her, adults disliked her, etc. Luz always had a hard time fitting in. And when her father died she lost one of the two people who really understood her. Collector's relationship with his siblings seems rather poor. The Archivists effectively told Collector to "go play with the neighbor kids", like they were trying to get rid of him. Collector made friends with the Titans, but the Archivists came back and exterminated them. Collector lost the only beings that actually liked him for who he was. "Hollow Mind" showed us Philip's mindscape. It seems that Philip was an odd child, shy and always hiding behind that strange mask. The only person who seemed to understand Philip was his brother Caleb. And according to Masha's story, both brothers desperately wanted to fit in, and so joined the witch-hunts. But then Caleb met Evelyn, and Philip was all alone. Desperate to "rescue" his brother, Philip wound up killing poor Caleb. Philp had nothing left after that except a thirst for vengeance coupled with his own warped delusions. Like I already mentioned, Philip had one last chance at redemption after he was defeated. And he blew it terrifically. Perhaps instead of his final words being more lies and excuses, attempting to guilt trip Luz into saving him simply because they're both human, he should've finally admitted he was little more than a scared and lonely child no different than Luz or Collector. If he'd just admitted this, maybe he could've found redemption. Alas, he refused to even consider that he was in the wrong up until his final moments as a rotting skull stewing in a puddle of boiling green slime...

I find it great that in a show all about acceptance, community, and connection the villain is a witch hunter, the prime example of intolerance. And this may be unintentional, but intolerance is defeated by an immigrant (first generation to the isles, second generation to the states) an amputee with a pre-existing condition, her non-binary partner, and their adopted son I just find that comfortingly appropriate

Literally this episode tops all the previous ones together, I bet that no one was able to watch it without crying. I never cried so much for a series finales (not even The Clone Wars finale made me cry so much) Luz’s death scene made me cry the most, especially when The Collector realizes that death is not something you can fix. Dana and the crew really put their maximum effort in this one because we couldn’t have asked for a better ending than this

One of my first thoughts after the episode was "wow there was basically no Hooty at all, I bet Mikey's not gonna be happy about that." At first I thought maybe they had to save money and couldn't afford to bring every cast member in to record, but then I remembered that Hooty is voiced by Alex Hirsch, who definitely would've been in the booth to play King. Season 3 has so little Hooty, truly the greatest casualty of the shortening of the season. I guess the writers decided it would be unrealistic if both of the most powerful characters, Hooty and Raine, were fighting Belos, because then they would've obviously won too easily.

I love that Hunter decided to become a palisman sculptor. He started his arc by giving a palisman to Belos so he could destroy it, and trying to capture more for him. Now he's making new palismans and gives them to people so they can befriend them.

You know, when I first went to watch this series finale, I was expecting nothing but heartbreak and misery. What I got in the end was a glorious, amazing, and joyful end to such a brilliant show. I think what makes this finale so good is that after every piece of trauma, pain, self-hate, and god knows what else that every character endured, they FINALLY got their triumphant win over an irremediably, horrible, delusional, evil monster, who lost his humanity the second he saw someone was "taking" his brother. And to see all characters get their happily ever after is so satisfying and pure, it filled my heart and soul with great emotions. I'm gonna miss this brilliant show and its characters, storytelling, and gorgeous animation !❤This is a true gem in the medium of animation that should be watched by everyone! Despite all the time constraints, the finale still managed to be epic, and everybody that deserved it got a happy ending. We only got like, four minutes of Titan Luz, but what an epic four minutes they were. And the Collector... gosh, I really wanted more of him! Just a child with too much power that only wanted friends and not people that used and trick him. And then really trying to take Luz's lesson by heart. Too bad he chose the wrong person for that 😢

I love all three shows that you mentioned. I agree that amphibia is the most enjoyable, the jokes and characters are all so lovable. I personally think the owl house has the best writing of the three and is the most serious, I truly think if it wasn’t cut shorter, we would have gotten more time with the characters and it would truly rise above the rest, but I still love what we got!

If I must be critical. Yes, there are things, especially in the beginning, that happen quite quickly, mhhh I wonder why / Disney, I'm looking at you /. But even if there are some very fast-paced things at the beginning and two or three other places later on, I still think the ending is absolutely wonderful, especially at the end. And even critically, I would give a clean 9/10. / Side note , I don't give high marks that easily / . This was critical. And now purely as a fan and as emotions that I examined - 11 / 10, without a single regret, an absolutely wonderful finale. Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen the episode. Things that made a special impression on me. - I really liked the way they took care of the Collector, and I find it ironic that even though he doesn't understand that people and life are complex and fragile, he himself is a complex and fragile character, I thought this was a very cool and appropriate way to develop the character. I mean, he's an immortal deity from the stars of course he doesn't understand what death is. -Belos has proven to be the best and most interesting Disney villain, hands down, and I think he's better than Bill, that's right, I said it. And the way he died was just 10/10 . - Titan Luz, faking rules, this is without a doubt the best design of anyone in the show, better even than Harpy Eda and Belos's monster form, and these two are pretty serious competition. And if we're going to debate Titan Luz looks COOLER than the Ann, Sasha and Marcy trio combined, I'm not even kidding right now, I'm totally serious, Titan Luz looks badass. And since I know some people are going to argue about this I'll say it now, I like this ending better than Amphibia's. The ending of Amphibia is great, but I think this one is better. -Also , i've heard people complain about the fact that Hooty doesn't have a single line in the final episode, and to that i'll say / technically they're wrong, he said bye along with everyone else / and secondly, i'm not his biggest fan so i'm fine , whatever - And the music was just killer as always . And now I know that people will come who will start saying how Luz should have died or that the very fact that they kill a character and then bring them back , is stupid. Yes, yes, I know, killing characters and then bringing them back is a bad idea because it lowers the stakes. But I will say the following - First, neither Gravity Falls nor Amphibia survived this, and Gravity Falls is close to a masterpiece, the moment with Stan, even if it's annoying, it doesn't make the ending worse, so it didn't make a bad impression on me either I don't have a problem. And SECONDLY, which is more important, from those listed Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Amphibia - The Owl House did this with the return of already killed characters, the best, because purely logically in relation to the context of the story, there were quite solid hints and foreshadowing that this place will play a role and that the titan is helping Luz, so there was a solid build up and implications for something like that, and it tied in purely logically quite well. With Amphibia it was 50/50, on the one hand they somewhat stayed and held on to the self-sacrifice which is cool , but on the other hand they bring Ann back to life too , kind of , separately there were no hints before this , that something like this was possible, literally in the last episode we found out so that there would be an excuse to return Anne. Unfortunately, Gravity Falls did the worst of the three, there was absolutely no reason to bring Stan's memory back, none. In general, in my opinion, the finale was great and completely satisfied me. I imagine how in an ideal world the final episode would have been 70 minutes, which would have been enough for all the plot points of the episode, but what we have still works great. What I'm talking about, in an ideal world we would have a whole season 3, but this has already been said too many times so I'll leave it here. 1- The Owl House 2- Gravity Falls 3-Amphibia / and if you're going to criticize something, let the criticisms not be things like, this ending reminds me of Amphibia, the fact that something looks like something else, no matter how little or how much, it doesn't mean anything, it's not an indicator of anything. I'll give you an example with Terminator 2, which in terms of scenarios is almost one to one with the first Terminator, and Terminator 2 is great regardless of whether it resembles its predecessor plotwise or not. So the criticism that this looks like something already existing is not considered valid. I'm curious to hear your opinion 🙂🙂🙂 .

Recently watched this and amphibia. Like a said on your Amphibia finale reaction I didn’t think these shows looked good but regret not giving them a try. I these show are extremely good not as good as Gravity Falls but still works. I have my problems with The Owl house, mainly that it’s rushed and doesn’t feel like it has a good pace, but I don’t blame them I understand why it’s this way, Stupid Disney, but it’s still a problem I have nonetheless. When I first watched the show I wasn’t liking it until I met Hooty. That dang Owl and Hunter are the best parts of this show fight me!!! But all in all it’s a really great show that deserved better. Now for my thoughts on the finale 0-10 THERE WAS NO HOOTY DIALOGUE!!!

this episode was such a satisfying finale in so many ways and did so much well. i was just a little sad to think about all the extra things we could've gotten if we only had more time. we can only hope we get more owl house content in some form. two of my personal hangups are that we barely got v screentime and that we never really got to delve into hunter's trauma and see him work through that. i'll just have to assume that offscreen he's seeing a therapist lol. we also didn't get much of him being a part of the noceda family in the finale so i also am just going to assume he bounces around his adoptive parents/families (darius, the clawthornes, and camila) + the fact that they made the final 3 episodes spell out thanks for watching makes me want to scream and sob. so much love went into this show. im really going to miss it. there's something about. when people get to make their passion project and share that with the world and they're just so thankful to have gotten the chance and for the support they've received even if they get screwed over. it's very heartwarming to see and makes me really emotional. also can we all just applaud the crew for not going "friendship and forgiveness is always the answer, even for people who are the scum of the earth" they said F THAT stomp this man's corpse. love everything said about/the actions taken towards belos this episode. he really is one of the best villains i've seen in a long time, not even just in cartoons.

also after having time to process. im pretty disappointed hunter wasn't able to get in on the belos stomping. if anyone deserved to be there it was him. but i understand why they weren't able to do it like that, and time restraints etc etc. i can headcanon that luz and eda saved a scrap of belos to bring back so hunter could stomp on it lol + something i connected on my first watch that idk if other people mentioned but luz's titan form feels a little bit like a nod to the bodyswap episode in s1 in which king was in luz's body so she had his eyes and fang.

Man what a show, and what an ending I do not envy the restrictions and challenges they must have gone through to make season 3 happen the way it did. All said, I think I would be in a similar boat to your "rankings" Owl house probably sits in 3rd or 4th for my personal list, but thats not a knock being in the top 5 is pretty high praise. Looking back I think the only thing that knocks it down a notch or two is that IMO the main plot basically didnt exist in season 1. And thats not calling season 1 filler or anything, like you said I think something needs to be completely pointless junk to be considered filler, and season 1 is definitely not that. But it does rub me the wrong way that basically none of the main over arching plot comes in until the very last 2 episodes and with Belos being introduced. I still love our cast of characters and all the shit they get up to and the dynamics between them, Like you said the finale would never have hit as hard if those earlier episodes hadn't happened. Im not an expert or anything but i feel like maybe a little shuffling could have been done to get to the big stuff sooner. I mean season 2 shows they can and did balance all the fun and goofy stuff with the deeper more serious character drama perfectly. And season 3 proves it even more, I mean hell the amount of ground they covered in 40 minutes is crazy, really tight and effective writing. But all in all, what a show, definitely one I will revisit down the line, and its still a massive shame Disney decided to cut it short.

Interesting and cool vid. Spoiler Alert: Before my thoughts real quick: I didn’t realize that Raine and Eda swapped earrings in the end credits scenes. Camila and Amity should have gotten to see Luz in her Titan form. Hooty should’ve had like one or more lines in this episode; especially since the show is literally called The Owl House, but at least we got to see him a couple times. King’s Dad’s left eye with the Hooty sticking out of it; I do wonder what that is about. One more thing that I forgot to mention but I’m mentioning it know is that Luz’s name means light and she turned into Light or well Light glyphs but that might have been intentional; now that I think about it. My thoughts about the finale episode of The Owl House; Watching and Dreaming: There were some scary and awesome parts. Like when Luz was having her nightmare and Eda and King as well. The Collector’s backstory. Then when the light glyph was able to help Luz escape and all of them reuniting. Luz protecting the Collector but going to the in-between realm and that’s what a lot of people were already calling it; I think. Luz meeting King’s Dad and him giving her the last of his power. The Collector’s magic wasn’t working after Belos possessed the Titan’s of the Boiling Isles heart a.k.a. King’s Dad. It’s because Titan magic cancels out Collector’s magic and that’s also probably part of the reason that Amity, Gus, Willow, and Hunter’s magic wasn’t working. Eda and King going full on beast mode because they thought that Belos killed Luz. What Luz said when she defeated Belos “Now… Eat this sucker!”; I really like that and Belos deserves it. The funny joke that King’s Dad told to Luz to tell to King and all King, Luz, and Eda laughing at it. The Collector helping Luz’s friends and turning everyone back from being puppets. Everyone reuniting. Hooty and Lilith and how Amity’s and Camila’s face were by watching what he did compared to Luz’s face. The time skip to the future. Also the fact that Luz can go back and forth from the human realm into the demon realm and vice versa. Everyone planning the quinceanera for Luz because she missed a couple of her birthdays helping rebuild the Boiling Isles. Last of all the Collectors show that he did and what everyone said at the end of this finale episode. One more thing that I forgot to add and realized it that Camila learned to draw and use glyphs like Luz did. It has been such a great journey and as I’m righting this I’m starting to tear up but they are happy tears. I’ll always remember this quote: “ Don’t cry because it’s over. There are so many layers of irony to Belos's death. A man infamous for his manipulation completley flubbs it in the end. Even with his genuine belife that he helped humanity he was murderd by a human. After surviving for about 400 years in the boiling isles he died because of the rain probably the most natural and mundane thing that happend there. He was stomped on by Raine who he "enterd", Eda who could be his great grand nice with a 400 year gap and king whos fathers corpes he also "enterd". But at least he got his dripp back. Also unironicaly a more progressive man than anyone in our time but oh well.

LITTERALLY PERFECT FINALE!!!!!! the owl house is my second favorite piece of media after fate stay night (which means a lot, I'm a HUGE fate stay night fan), it's such a relatable plot and I loved every second of it. this finale just filled me with everything, every emotion, I loved all the many subdle callbacks to previous episodes, and they somehow managed to enter every plothole left through such a short time: the origin of glyphs was explained, a full picture of belos's personality and intentions was drawn, and maybe most importantly they actually brought the titan heart back!! I was so sure they forgot about it. now in terms of ranking it's really difficult for me to decide, since amphibia's ending tugged on my heartstrings a lot more, and it had the scene with "domino", but to be honest I had a bunch of problems with it, mostly at the begining. and that's pretty much all I have to say. byeeeeeeee update: she ra surpassed owl house (not in terms of finale), I'm sorry but it's just too good (glory be to prime)

So… THIS is the Endgame? I can't tell whether or not I'm a little satisfied or a little disappointed. Probably both. Personally, I can only blame the former CEO but it doesn't really help that he STILL got away with this, before he got fired. And since Dana cleaned out her office in Disney Channel, after finishing the episode, I don't see this expanding on the air.

While I did love the conclusion they come up with, obviously for me it loses some impact because they had to rush to it. Imagine if there were a full third season, we would had all that extra time to really flesh out all the new storylines they introduced. It’s a shame. Dana did an exceptional job with what she had to work with

How did they make a new portal door? Did Gus ever become an ambassador like he wanted? And probably the biggest question that never gets answered. Who was Evelyn?

I’ve been on the channel since the last few episodes of your Gravity Falls reactions, I stuck around after that for Amphibia and The Owl House. It’s really sad seeing them end, I really enjoyed Amphibia, but personally The Owl House meant so much to me and it’s so sad to see it go. Great reaction! I really enjoyed the finale, and I will even go as far as to say that I loved most of the moments individually, but I will say that looking at the whole finale together, it could have been better... There are just so many really interesting ideas packed so closely together that they don't really let each other breath, I could totally see all these ideas working together really well if they had more time for them. I think that if I could take out one element from the whole show to give the ideas in the finale more time to breathe, it would be The Collector, he (they?) is such a good idea that sadly didn't get enough time to breath and because of that The Collector has no impact on the story that couldn't have been filled by Bellos, draining spell could have been invented by him and he could have stayed in the Demon realm and terrorized the people there instead of The Collector, and that would have allowed for a finale with more time for Bellos's plan instead of being awkwardly shoved in at end. Or remove Bellos from the finale, after he gets "killed" in the finale of season 2 we could have only focused on The Collector and I think that would have also worked well! And this isn't a criticism of the writers for the show, I know that they thought they would have more time but it was cut short... Also there were plenty of little moments through out the finale that bothered me, like collectors magic not working for no good reason, the main cast being to tired to do magic but not too tired to run around and use glyphs, etc... -------- Spoilers for Star vs. the Forces of Evil -------- The whole finale heavily reminds me of the way Toffe was defeated, the way the main character "dies" and then comes back with a dramatic power boost to defeat the villain, even the way that both of the villains were killed, dissolving as goop and then getting squished!
