I like how they're giving Leon the parry system and that scene where one of the possessed monks try to take a shot at Leon and parries it back by at him reminds me from Batman 89. You can really tell that they're giving Resident Evil 4 remake a lot of love and care for this game. Not only that but I think that this going to be the game of the year for 2023.

According to Eurogamer, the dev said at an interview that they want to make the Krauser fight legit playable without rampant QTE like the OG game since these days players don't like it. The parry mechanics is the solution to that, since Leon is already capable of CQC.

With the stuff cut from 2 and 3 remake I hope 4 doesn't suffer the same fate. What's here looks amazing so I hope they were able to preserve the whole experience even if those moments are different. Re4 is a beefy game so hope the remake is as big. Gameplay looks more fun then before already so let's hope. Dead space remake was amazing so let's go 2 for 2 this year!

Maybe they will have Krauser appear a little earlier at least in cutscenes. Makes sense to have Luis around a little longer in the second half of the game as well. Just replayed the HD texture mod and I can definitely see Capcom just tweaking things a little. Everything looks incredible only issue I have so far is having storage avaliable outside of the Atache Case, however I suspect Capcom might be offsetting that by making the enemies harder + more of them so we are going to need to store some resources in a storage box as well for bigger/harder engagements.

Makes me wonder if there’s like a set of medallions for each of the 3 main areas the village, castle and the island and if each area gives you a different reward. So imagine we still get the broken butterfly revolver for the ones in the cemetery and farm but for other areas there are new extra weapons we can get that would be pretty cool. I also wonder if they kept the Chicago typewriter and infinite launcher

A cool detail with the handguns is the +1 indicating the game takes into account the chambered round in addition to the magazine. That's a detail that not even a game like killing floor 2 takes into account. Killing floor 2 has like 6 different reloading animations per gun at least, and not even they bothered to count the chambered round. I've only ever heard of it in some military Sims. It's a nice detail. I would like if you got a faster reload on an empty mag with a round still in the chamber.

That RE7 added a suppressor and laser aiming module to the Albert Wesker model doesn’t detract from realism or tactical appearances. It makes the guns look more modern/futuristic and definitely more badass opposed to a run of the mill 500 dollar black generic 92fs. Another dumb RE hot take.

I had been skeptical of a RE4 remake for quite some time, partly because I didn't really see much of a point. This really changes things, it looks like such a major step up from the original. My initial fear that they were going to strip the humor out of it has faded, Leon is still spouting stupid one-liners and I love it. I've been worried because I want it done right, especially after Resident Evil 3 being sub-par compared to the Resident Evil 2 remake. This looks phenomenal, I'm definitely looking forward to it now.

Obviously the community is doing an amazing job making HD mods, and randomizers for the classic games on PC, but I wish developers added official randomizers as updates/DLC/ or unlocks for console players as well. One thing I didn't even consider with the remake was how enemies would react to bullets now. In the OG, shotguns would always knock down basic enemies; here it looks like they'll blow arms and legs off easily. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them would still try to come after Leon with just DESTROYED bodies.

Just had a dumbass smile on my face throughout this whole video. Haven't been this excited for a game in a long time. I was highly cautious because of how RE3 Remake turned out (I liked it, but it was hugely disappointing), and to some extent, how RE2 Remake turned out (Fantastic overall, but terrible implementation of the A & B scenarios). But goddamn, RE4 Remake just looks fantastic. It could be the next perfect Remake the way RE1 Remake was. Hope that's the case. Really hope that's the case.
