Can't believe the water was so dirty!

This week you join on a campsite in Horsley, which for so close to the M25 & M23 it's a really lovely site to stay on. I get on with cleaning my carpets that in all honestly have seen better days but I need to get them clean and pet safe.

I also have a little chat with you all about me mixing up the content on this channel and introducing some other non-motorhome content, other videos covering other parts of my life and things that I get up to and the bottom line question is "are you in and along for the ride?"
Honestly I would love to know what you think about other content that isn't motorhome content, don't panic i'm not going to swamp the channel, just the odd video hear and there.

Hi Darren, if you have an empty glass cleaner bottle ,fill it with it with half water and methylated spirit give it a good shake then spray it on the grease marks ,leave it for a short while then use the steam cleaner ,it's always worked for me ,being a retired painter and decorator, I have used this mix to clean paintwork and remove stains many times and it is also good for cleaning glass 👍👍

In my caravan, I used to use bath mats on top of the carpets. So easy to throw into the washing machine to clean.

I’ve got off cuts of Astro turf to use in and outside and easy to keep clean with a shake or a hose down

We use bath noodle mats as well. We have a dog and carpets stay really clean. They are easy to shake out and wash.

Hi, for grease, if you fold about 4 layers of kitchen roll, place over the grease and lightly iron on top you should get quite a bit of grease off the carpet as the kitchen roll sucks the grease up.. keep lifting it up to check that the carpet dosen't get too hot. Hope this helps xx

Great video. I could not put that carpet back in my home after seeing that water! Here in America Rv’ers/van-lifer channels include “adventures”. Week long camping trips through the Grand Canyon, sightseeing in quaint little towns or trips to Hawaii. One always ask locals for the towns best bakery, another wanted the best coffeehouse. I always assumed part of that life was scouting out potential destinations your viewers. I don’t see anything wrong with you doing the same.

Darren the next time you wash the carpets dilute some laundry washing liquid, spray it on let it soak in was as usual then rinse it with clean water .

I came across ur channel whilst searching a replacement for Jezza, Hammond n May in between their specials,hence I love ur trips. Love ur content, and would even love to see ur attempt at a 40-60 min special every so often doing a long road trip/camping etc, maybe with a couple of others who tag along in their motors. Just a thought Darren. Couple of years ago i built a garden bench for my daughter, in my flat. While varnishing it, i accidentally knocked over the tin of varnish 😢. I put some WD4O on the spill and left for 30 minutes, not expecting much to happen. But honestly it worked a treat. I then repeated it a couple of days later, after it fully dried. Now you wouldn't think id spilt anything at all, as its worked great. You might not like the smell of WD40, but can then use the carpet cleaner. Also you can just put some shake and vac down. Just a thought, and keep up the good video's 👍

We lay all the fitted carpets out on a concrete surface, give them a good, long soak with strong mixture of hot water, biological wash powder and dish washing liquid then blast them with our pressure washer. Make sure they are well rinsed afterwards. They come up like new. The biggest problem is finding somewhere to dry them afterwards. 🖖

It's carpet (a mat basically). I have soaked/saturated and scrubbed carpet mats before (pet accidents). Used dish liquid and scrubbing brush. Hung it over the fence to dry. Your carpet is good enough to keep. Bathmat in the kitchen for kitchen spills.

We had some left over carpet from home and a place in Milton Keynes used the old Motorhome carpet as templates to get the right shape from the left over carpet. Think lots of carpet places would do that but the MK one was recommended in a Roaming Radford’s video.

Try a carpet store, you can buy a cheap end of roll and the can have the edges whipped for you to size. Usually around £6 per meter for the edging. Tapi and carpet right both do it I'm not sure about where else

We've been full-time for a year now, and the first thing we did was to remove the fitted carpets and replace it with three colourful and washable rugs. Perfect for sweeping out the van and cleaning the rugs. For our safety we hold them down with industrial Velcro 👍✌️

Morning fella. I took the carpet from our motorhome to a carpet shop in Guiltbook and the cut a fresh carpet of our choosing using the the old one as a stencil. It fits perfectly and lifts the whole interior no end. This included the stitching around the edges so it's a proper job. We got changed from £80! Bargain. So don't throw away the old carpet yet just leave it with the carpet shop as it's the perfect shape for you motorhome mucker. Hope that helps, Richard 🙂

Okay so the carpet wasn’t spotless. It looks better now but for the warm weather we take our carpets out. Put a washable rug/doormat in front of the cooker n bobs your uncle. Re carpets A good idea is to use a few throw in the washing machine bathroom rugs We have a couple on top Of the carpet as rugs But you could just use them as rugs on their floor Okra sell Some Good ones

Use a jet wash to clean them - bold laundry cleaner works well as nothing worse than the chemical smell from cleaners.

I think a trip to Turkey in your Motorhome you can start with a Belgium waffle. Then on to French crepes. Before getting in to Pizza and Gelato in Italy. Taking a Ferry over to Greece for Gyros and Moussaka. Then you not to far from Turkish kebab and some Baklava. Did the trip to Greece in January 2019 and Last year the trip was down to Sicily from February to April.

I think for most the draw to this channel is your personality (I am sure the ladies love the money maker too 😂) Therefore I think most things travel / food related will work. Asia travel will be very interesting to me but also want to see you touring Europe in the Van too. I guess it's hard when you have family and friends that you want to keep close too, to go too far afield for too long.

If that lake is near Broxbourne then I think it might be the site of a lido I used to go to from Harlow back in 60/70s. My friends and I used to have to walk under a very low bridge to get to the Lido. Ahh those were the days! 🙏🙋👌

I just bought rubber backed carpet runners for mine. Full-time living ruins normal carpets. I just take the runners out and jet wash them... Dry in no time..
