Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a 2012 racing game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts. Most Wanted is the nineteenth title in the Need for Speed series and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, iOS and Android, beginning in North America in 2012, with a Wii U version following in 2013 under the title Need for Speed: Most Wanted U. The game picked up on the Most Wanted intellectual property, as opposed to the Hot Pursuit reboot that Criterion Games developed previously.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is set in an open world environment. The game takes on the gameplay style of the first Most Wanted title in the Need for Speed franchise; the contrast difference is the 2012 Most Wanted does not contain a story. Most Wanted allows players to select one car and compete against other racers in three types of events: Sprint races, which involves traveling from one point of the city to another, Circuit races, each having two or three laps total and Speed runs, which involve traversing through a course in the highest average speed possible. There are also Ambush races, where the player starts surrounded by cops and must evade their pursuit as quickly as possible.

One of the best childhoods ever, I used to play this when I was like 5 and I would just drive around and race. If i could remember, my brothers used to play ut as well because my brother bought the game (CD) and their stats were INSANE... They were like somewhere in the 12 million I think which was crazy 💀💀

This is the first racing game I have ever played and it has such a special place in my heart. I truly enjoy every aspect of it, music, graphics, car list and the progression. I get people hate on it but it did its job, MW2012 lives on

For me it's hot pursuit 2010 my all time favorite in the series for the extreme serious tone sadly didn't get the chance to play rivals since it is similar in that dark tone

There is interesting bug how to farm PRO details. For exaple tires, when you drifting you need to press ESC all the time and is result you get PRO detail when you drift only 500 metres, not 4000. It works with all details. Or body kit, when you need to avoid 2 crashes you can avoid 1, go to pause and back and you get a PRO detail.

Even in 2024, NFSMW 2012 still has the best engine sounds despite the rubberbanding AI on Most Wanted Races can be very annoying and problematic.

Chameleon seems much better to me and should have had priority and potential than the Frostbite engine. I remember when the NFS HP 2010 came out and its graphics engine was visually exquisite..

i've said this 100 times and i will continue to say it. the koenisegg is not faster than the bugatti veyron the bugatti veyron fully loaded and pro'd up all the way has potential to crack 300 mph. the acceleration and speed of the bugatti easily stomps over the koenisegg. the number one most wanted should have been the bugatti. it should have never been third for the most wanted spot. that bugatti is insane. it is a land rocket with a w12 engine

It does not look that great, it looks, well, like a 12 years old game. There are other games that despite time, they do look incredibly good. Driveclub for example and before you call me a fanboy, i find PlayStation/Sony fanboys annoying and they all act like little losers, but, credit where is due.
