No idea if youll get this! Im from ireland and have traveled around most of it so have a huge list of places to visit, if you liked strandhill, there is a place just a little further north over the boarder of slight and into donegal called Bundoran! beautiful little surf town! lovely community theyve surf schools and board rental for cheap! a little carnival, some stunning scenery close by and if you go at the right weekend in the summer! theres an amasing festival called Sea Session which hosts a lot of amasing indie / rock musicians and a bunch of beach activities! another great place would be dingle, kerry/ the ring of Kerry! again right on the coast and one of the most beautiful places in ireland! (and they have the best accents) your also right beside irelands highest peak then and can climb Carrauntoohill which on the hike you past irelands hieghest lake! (customary to take a dip , sure it will be freezing but its good craic). Galway city is a lovely spot! its europes city of culture 2020 i believe! while over on the west cost check out the Burren in county clare! ill leave you to look that one up! its just a stunning place and takes you right to the cliffs of moher! Doolin is a gorgeous wee town along the lower side of the cliffs ! make sure to try out the fudge from the fudge chocolate shop in the town! leaving the west coast behind come over to the east coast! just south of dublin in my home county of wicklow (also know as the garden of ireland) we've a huge moutain range, tunnes of forests and lakes! and nationals park you drive through called the wicklow way/ sally gap! you can drive that way to Glendalough! which is a huge glen with two lakes, a old abandoned monastery from when the monks lived here and a mining village deep in the glen! theres a huge amount of history around wicklow linking with the Vikings so absolutely worth a visit!

It's bugs me that so many tourists just stay in Dublin which is big city instead of visiting all the other coastlines north south east and west where you get to explore the beauty that Ireland really has. Well done on the video guys

If you ever come to ireland in the summer you need to visit skellig michael off the coast of kerry. It is an experience like no other. Unfortunately you have to book many months in advance as because some of the new star wars scenes were filmed there, it has become a bit of a popular spot for starwars heads. That said they restrict the number of visitors so as to protect the island and the resident population of puffins. Its a tough climb up the stairs to the top but when you get there and see the 5th century monastic settlements it is truly breathtaking

You need to go to the Village of Howth, 12 miles from Dublin City but it has a lovely beach, harbour with seals, lovely food, a cliff walk for miles and trips over to Ireland's Eye, (Island) about a mile from Howth, which has a huge gannet colony and a church from 800AD.

Yes, both are very beautiful, special places. You can walk for literally a whole day up, down and around the beautiful hills of Glendalough -- greatly enhanced by sunny weather for sure. 🌞 If I recall correctly, Glendalough was once the site of an ancient Druidic settlement (a roundtower still exists there today). Maybe that explains the earthy-yet-otherworldly feel of the place?! Also, there is an absolutely lovely, charming, cosy restaurant/guesthouse named 'The Wicklow Heather', just a short drive down the road from Glendalough. Cool interior decor and awesome staff. Well, the food is *AMAZING* there! Nicest food I have ever had in my life. Can't recommend 'The Wicklow Heather' enough! (Sadly, like so many other great Irish restaurants, it has been forced to stay closed due to this poxy virus with a 99% survival rate!) 😠

I remember getting surf lessons in Donegal. Everyday We drove by the second best beach in the world to another beach than in my opinion, was better. It stretched for miles and the waves were sooooio good and no one else was on the beach so the waves were all mine. Like the waves were higher than strand hills by a good bit. It isn’t even cold with a wetsuit. But when the sun shines it’s the best feeling ever

If you're headed back to Ireland try and see more of the wild Atlantic way! There's some amazing hidden gems in Co.Donegal. The Murder hole beach is an amazing place, it can be tricky to get to as you might have to jump a gate into private property, but everyone does it. It's definitely worth it though! You also have to go and see Bloodyforeland (Gweedore) for an amazing sunset on a nice day. Then about a 35 minute drive from there (with some beautiful scenery on the way) and you would be in Croghy Head (Maghery). if you want a real taste of rural Irish pubs then head to Sharkeys Bar in Annagry for a drink, the people are lovely and would probably give you more guidance on where to go! There's also a lovely county House you can stay in called Danny Minnies! Also maybe you didn't know this already but Donegal Airport got voted the worlds most scenic approach, So next time if you are flying into Dublin and wanting to see more of the wild Atlantic way, i would 100% recommend flying in to Donegal airport (try and make sure its a nice day) From there you can Hire a car and start your journey! Theres also a lot more to see outside of Donegal headed down the west and into the south. Galway city is lovely and very traditional. You can also go see the more touristy spots like the cliffs or Moher and The Burren. The Ring of kerry is also another amazing adventure. Dingle is a part of it and while you're there go and see fungie the Dolphin! I hope this helped and I hope you two are planning on returning to Ireland because i feel you both haven't seen enough! For some more inspo maybe check out some of GarethWrayPhotography on Instagram. I'm from Donegal and have yet to discover some of the places he's been to. He has some amazing sites and locations on his feed! Good luck on your next journey! I'll be following you!

that was a really beautiful video thank you...........I am here in New York home caring for my 100 years of age mother. I lived in Youghal right on the water and everyday I would harvest my own seaweed there was at least 5 different varieties and I would soak in my bath at least 3 to 4 times a week. Now here in New York I get my seaweed from the Chinese market and when I shower I rub the seaweed all over my body and my hair. I also make seaweed shampoo just get you favourite shampoo and puree the seaweed and put it into the shampoo bottle. I thank you again for making me both sad and happy to see my Ireland in such a youthful way. My sister came to visit me in Ireland and when she returned to New York, she was asked did it rain and she replied "only once from the time she arrived til when she left" (she had a wonderful 2 weeks with her son)

I recommend Newgrange, it is about an hour outside Dublin, it is an ancient burial grounds but it is really incredible. I also recommend the Burren, its an amazing place with unique rocks and plants.

Enjoyed watching this! We also just finished a 2 month roadtrip along the Wild Atlantic Way, in our camper named Jitters and absolutely LOVED it! 🎥We made travel films about our adventure for anyone on here looking for more Ireland travel inspiration! We stayed at beaches, lighthouses, cliffs, seaside towns, geological wonders... and loved every minute of it. Ireland is vanlife heaven 🚐🇮🇪💕 xx Tania

I guess Irish People never really appreciate what they have till they've live abroad... We moan when were here and moan when away but Irish people wouldn't be anywhere else but home... Next time you are here, Kerry, if driving from Dublin stop of in Cashel, County Tipperary on way back to Dublin visit Kilkenny it's amedieval town in southeast Ireland. The Castle was built in 1195 by Norman occupiers and there are loads of thing to do all centrally located and easily accessible. And if you are staying in Dublin i'll take you to some hidden gems :-)

I loved to see Ireland. It is more beautiful than I thought. Thank you for this Video. I recommend the biggest island of Germany called Rugia (in German language: Rügen). And Usedom, an island near Poland is very beautiful too. I would be interested in Norway or Finland. So have fun and enjoy you time.

go to belfast, major historic city with murals and street art from its war aswell as all the game of thrones studios , then down through the mourne mountains and past the monastic sites. Another place just outside of dublin is Glendalough in the wicklow mountains (about an hour drive) could not recommend more, as an irish person ive gone there by myself for a few days before and lived in a hermitage to reconnect with my land and genuinely it is one of the most spiritual and ancient places in Ireland cannot recommend more

@Christy Dolan i see your point but i suppose whats interesting about the murals and walls etc in belfast is that it is history continued on. Berlin wall is down these are still up as they need to be up, they are there for a purpose and the murals are there to define culture neighbourhood and commemorate those who defend each side. Probably a bit hard to understand if your from the south but those walls etc aren't there for the tourist attraction, and i want them to stay as it is the only way people feel safe. And yea they are much more interesting than anything else belfast has to offer non game of thrones related, as everyones somewhat involved or has been indirectly we are proud of the unique situation we live in as weird as that sounds, i couldn't imagine living in a belfast without it as it wouldn't be the same.
@barvdw
@barvdw 5 жыл бұрын
@Christy Dolan I understand it was (is?) a traumatising memory, but it's still a memory of important historic events. Murals have become a part of the city landscape in Dublin, I could only hope some new murals are added with a more pacifist message, to go full circle.
