CAN'T BELIEVE THIS !! - TRIP OFF TO BAD START

APOLOGIES FOR BAD SOUND IN DRIVING SEGMENT AT START OF VIDEO, WE HAD WINDOWS OPEN AND IT AFFECTED THE MICROPHONES.
We set off on our trip, but unfortunately we get off to a very bad start, when we hit a pothole and have some damage with a huge clean up.
Our Portugal trip sort of starts here, but before we leave the UK, we try out a rally at a Steam festival in Kent.
We are Corrin and Paul and with our two dogs (Pippa and Dolly) we have travelled to 23 countries in Europe in our 13 year old motorhome.
We use our Revolut card while we travel, so far we have used it in 22 countries.

that doesnt look like safety glass to me safety glass is suppose to have a film on it to stop it from going into small pieces

It’s tempered safety glass , had we realised we would have added a film over it , luckily the dogs were fine 🙂❤️

When we were younger, before moving to Spain, we had a stationary engine that we took to all the Kent shows. Great fun and as we had a motorvan made it easy. We had the bonus of not having to pay because we were exhibiting. Good to see you heading Spain/Portugal way. Just remember those Beautiful Villages of Spain, you will be passing many. Just out of interest we work on 345E per week all in, food Inc and also our standard monthly bills on our apartment are Inc. Similar amount as we spend 6mths plus away per year and the rest in our Spanish home. Our OAP state pension has to cover standard costs. Our large bills are paid from the company pension. It's amazing what you can do on a small amount. Looking forward to following your travels.

The steam show was a real pleasant surprise , we thoroughly enjoyed it and marvelled at the machinery ❤️ , we will keep an eye on the budget , but so many great free stops on the way through really help , and the scenery makes it a joy xx 💖

Great video the steam rally look amazing.We are newly retired and living on our NHS and social services pensions so have a tight budget, we had an amazing 7 week French trip in our camper and spent just over £2,300 and we lived well.Looking forward to the Portugal vlogs as we are planning 3 months away in the New year x

Ooh, I'm excited for this budget challenge! We're saving for our motorhome and a new bathroom so definitely no £15k holiday for us! Actually just as you are leaving Wales for your holidays, we're going to Wales for our holidays! Love seeing how much fun we can create on a budget. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Glad little Wilf has started to turn the corner with his reactivity, we've been on quite the journey with lead reactivity with one of our rescues, fortunately all very much sorted now, but I remember what it's like when you have to be on high alert for other dogs going by. So glad the dogs (and you!) were all ok with the glass 😮 . We've gone for frosted acrylic shelves in one of our bathrooms instead of glass and it's great. Looks like glass but it's cheaper, lightweight, solid but flexible enough to avoid breakages and wipes clean. Might be an option if you decided you wanted to replace it with something there to stop kitchen splashes onto the seats? There are acrylic companies online that will cut it to size and round off the exposed edges so it looks like glass. ❤ Your 💅 nails look lovely Corrin, reminds me I must get mine done!!

I think you mentioned a switch to use the solar panels on the roof with a powerbank - was that a transfer switch that you fitted before the solar wires goes into the MPPT, for the leisure batteries, then a wire to the powerbank? Thankyou ❤️💖 I used a 2 way switch after the solar controller , so the solar energy is managed into the leisure batteries or via a solar connection cable into the powerbank, it works really well, we will include a short segment in our next vlog 🙂. Hi guys just watched your latest blog when your shattered my thoughts on what caused that is that when you removed your oven it's allowed the whole unit to flex under stress whilst driving and caused the glass to shattered just my thought's ?

Fancy that screen breaking. We had the glass on the hob break and the windscreen twice abroad. Not nice and yes you will find glass for ever in places you didnt know existed. Corrin where is your wedding ring??

Good morning ! Glass and motorhomes don’t seem to mix do they ! 😬 Corrin suffers with arthritis in her hands, and as a result a ring is uncomfortable ( in drawer at home ) and my job of 30 years entailed no jewellery , so it got misplaced a long time ago ! Been married over 30 years now ❤️❤️🙂

we have just looked at booking a ferry with pet lounge and even though we put 3 dogs in, it saying only 2 dogs in the lounge. you took your 3 into the lounge ok? very confusing :\

Hi, that is ok. If you’ve put the 3 dogs in then that’s recorded. The pet lounge is paid per person, not per dog, so basically you are just booking yourself into the pet lounge 👍

Why have you taken your first fuel fill up out of your budget. That payment was for fuel you had already used. Fill up on your return and add that to the budget instead. See, just saved you £80. Use your video evidence to claim off the council for the glass. Good luck for the rest of your trip. We will be doing the N2 next month.
