Fuel and tire sponsors are single handedly the biggest help when competing. I had built a big bore stroker quad that needed 110 leaded. This was 15ish years ago. ONE gallon of 110 leaded was $7-$8 per GALLON when able to find it at a pump. A three day dune trip i would burn through 40+ gallons and had to add premix oil it. So basically one gallon was about $12. Wont build one like that again unless its for drag racing.

The 1jz suffered at the lz comp. I don't see the Sr being any better. The car maybe yes will be better. But the engine isn't designed for those comps
@wheeln24-794 ай бұрын
My thoughts exactly. That poor engine is gonna last about as long as the ls did. I really wish they would've put a accusump on the ls and try it again cuz I think he'd really kill some competition with one!
@flatwoodzmafia4 ай бұрын
Thats what the pro car is for. Its a 3.4 2j. Pretty much all the cars he went against at the lz comp were pro cars, this coupe with the sr20 is a grassroots build, that hes more than likely building to go out and have fun with spoon and austin.

Put a drill bit into the press in fitting before grabbing it with the vice-grips! keeps it from deforming and you get a good grip. Works well with block dowels too.

JIMMY when removing those pcv ports or dowels pins. Put a drill bit inside the hole backward and then clamp the vice-grips on, and you won't crush them. You can also clamp harder. Especially if you're trying to reuse them.

I worked for Nissan for 13 years and they had problems with the internal slave cylinder when the brake fluid got hot. The fix was to flush the system and replace the brake fluid with the brake fluid from the r35gtr. It has a higher boiling point and is less affected by heat.

Pro tip for removing press in vacuum ports, put a socket or bolt that fits relatively close to the inner void then clamp down hard with your vice grips, you get a much stronger grip and can really twist on it while decreasing the risk or it tearing

Exciting to see! i somewhat worry that those two 1' tubes from the rear towers straight at the fuel cell may not pass tech.. not 100% but it does look like if you got hit hard in the towers it would push those tubes into the fuel cell possibly resulting in puncture.. wouldnt be hard to fix and would result in a lot of peace of mind imo..

Our local pump flex fuel sits between e53 and e65 in BC Canada. There is a fuel specialty place that mixes their own to exactly e85, but they charge the same price as premium fuel. It's expensive and burns faster 😢
