One of the best and great Elvis performance while he was slim and young was The 1968 comeback special .Those fans who have not grew up in the Elvis concert live in 1956 could have their a chance in 1968 and Many fans love when he was wearing black leather jacket.

As a 13 year old at Madison Square Garden, 13 rows back stage left, I never experienced anything like it in my life.. Forget about when he entered the stage with horns blazing, Ronnie Tutt's thundering drums pounding away, and the Flashbulbs exploding in every direction Elvis turned.. The scene and the moment was so overwhelming that you could feel yourself almost to the point of passing out.. Then when he started Can't Help Falling In Love, I remember tears coming down my face and cold chills take over my body.. Had you been there and witnessed that live, it may have killed you, but what a way to go...lol.. I was so young and I had the feeling at the end, Okay, I could die now.. Nothing since has ever approached that evening in 1972.. not even close!

I know what you mean Craig because I was able to see him in 1976. It is difficult to explain the overwhelming feelings when you see and hear him. I think you picked an amazing mix of this iconic treasure. A personal favorite is the Aloha version and remembering watching it in our tv room and not wanting it to end and waiting for the LP to be released. The Elvis on Tour is simply amazing. Such a powerful performance. The 1977 concert ending gives me tears from the opening of Elvis saying Adios til I see you again ... knowing we had lost him much, much too soon, but he gave it his all even that last time when his health was failing. We will always have his music and how thrilled me must be looking down from the Promised Land seeing how his legacy lives on and how his music still connects all us fans all over the world. Hi Michelle you have got to be one of Elvis top fans in the world your hubby might be just a teeny weeny jealous only kidding but it is written all over your face and eyes the overwhelming love you have for Elvis! I did see Elvis in Pittsburgh on New Years Eve it is something I will never forget when he ran out on stage it was an unreal experience Inwas 19 and was overwhelmed he sang so many songs that he didn't usually sing in concerts I had goosebumps for the whole concert well congrats on all your subs keep up the great job!!!!

I love an Elvis fest! Gotta agree with you on some of the instrumentation in the 68 special, some of it was a bit wonky, but I can't fault them for trying something a little different! I love the later versions when he'd bring it up at the end, definitely ends the concert on a high note (literally!).

Wow, now my tears have stopped, tears of joy and sadness I might add I have to commend you on this upload Michelle. As always your love, admiration and devotion has no bounds . What an iconic song, for such an iconic man, who couldn't fall in love with him. With Elvis it wasn't just what we saw and heard that moved us all in so many ways, it was more of what we knew of the inner Elvis that touched us even more. All versions to me were amazing for different reasons, in 68 it was a thankyou to his fans for never forgetting him whilst he wasn't able to perform live. To think even minutes before he went out on stage he told the producer he couldn't do it, he was so nervous and yes it did show at times but it made him even more endearing. I personally thought the musical arrangement was a little off, but vocally he was superb, he had adopted that sultry raspy sensual and soulfull sound and looked amazing. The on tour your version, saw another side to him, this is the showman, commanding the stage and giving it all for his fans, His vocals are much deeper and mellow yet he can still hit the high notes, no doubt about it a thankyou to his fans. The 73 Aloha Elvis here masking his own emotional state, again he sings out for his fans and to his fans, but I see great sadness In his eyes, Vocally for me a little inhibited, but we all know only hours after leaving the stage how ill he became in his room. 77 version, heart breaking for both Elvis and us. Frail of mind and body, but never did that voice fail him, what it must of taken out of him to get through each song I cannot imagine. As always he never failed to deliver and this version was no exception, it was as if he knew his time on that stage was up and he bowing out both with grace and dignity. The movie version can never be beaten, this was Elvis at his prime, effortless heavenly vocals and that vibrato sent shivers down your spine. I could never understand in the movie why he wasnt singing this to his finance though. His ballad singing to me was where his heart was, he had such a beautiful, sensitive, tender, loving, kind and thoughtful soul. I just wish that Elvis had found his true soulmate in life, that special one who loved him unconditionally and understood him for the person he truely was. Its just so sad he gave his all to all , but never found fulfil ment and contentment himself. As in the words of the song, some things are just meant to be, but we and many millions like us couldn't help falling in love with Elvis that's for sure. Goosebumps, tears, and joy Elvis gave us while here with us and still continues to. Thanks Michelle .

Awwww I not sure at all.... because I am from the uk - I can see a lot of Elvis love, like our monthly dances and festivals. They do not have impersonators, they sell out! I see the love, I feel it. I believe there is a great amount of love. America is so vast.... it might be harder for fans to get together regularly as we do?? I am really not sure on that one Bob! Great question! I like the film version but not as much as the live versions. The 1968 version is beautifully sung. I really like Elvis: That's The Way It Is but I agree with you that Elvis on Tour was the best concert documentary he ever made. I like Elvis Aloha From Hawaii but I thought that it wasn't as exciting as some of the concerts that Elvis gave apart from an incredible version of What Now My Love. As for my favourite version of Can't Help Falling In Love it is hard to choose between 1972 and 1977 both versions are so powerful. Elvis gave us everything he had right until the end and he will always be the greatest entertainer of all time and the one and only king of music.

Yeah, when they announced, "Elvis has left the building", they weren't kidding...They had to get Elvis out of there real quick, because if his fans had suspected that he might be backstage somewhere , they would have torn the place apart to get to him...And when I first saw him throw that cape into the audience, I couldn't believe it. Someone got a very pricey souvenir that day. Over the years, I've heard different things about what happened to the cape. There were claims that it got shredded because people fought over it. Another said that the cape stayed intact and that it eventually made it's way back to Graceland after many years of being in someone's possession. Do you know for certain what happened to it , Michelle. If anyone would know I would think it would be you. Anyway, that was a great compilation of different performances of Can't Help Falling In Love. It's always a lot fun to watch your reactions to Elvis. Keep 'em coming, Michele.

Another excellent version is from one of other shows filmed for Elvis On Tour in 1972 - the Richmond, Virginia show. I've linked to someone else's upload of it, but I've 'remastered' this show to make it tons more clear and less muddy than what's here but it still shows how good it was...as the first comment says, at around 1:23, it's King to A4 then C5 - checkmate in full voice, no falsetto which is very hard for a male to do and it's the only time I've heard him do this and I've got more bootleg concerts than you can shake a stick at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppKrlauYp86qrZI

@@ElvisLass35 Thanks - I was a drummer (in a former life, lol) and it was Elvis' drummer Ronnie Tutt who made me pick up sticks for the first time, so I've naturally gravitated towards Elvis because of that. In fact, I built a replica of the drumkit he used in the Aloha special and did a drum cover of it on my channel if you ever felt like looking at it. I'm rendering right now my 'remastered' version of that whole Red Hot In Richmond concert to upload to KZbin - if it stays up and doesn't get knocked down for copyright, feel free to use it for your review of it ! I'll post a URL when it's available.
