I found my teacher locally, if you are starting harp, I would recommend finding a local teacher based on your location :)

@@snowfrost1809 there are many brands of harps like Dusty Strings, Lyon Healy, Stoney End, etc. I would recommend finding a local harp store if possible so you can try out the harps in person

Hi Aiyun, I am actually playing on a Salvi Daphne 40 pedal harp. The harp in the video does not nearly sound as good unfortunately. I would highly recommend you check out Thormalen harps though they are one of the best sounding lever harps in my opinion! I mostly record with those harps now :)

@@hay16233 ah I see in that case I highly recommend lyon healy troubadour, its a bit heavy but it sounds very similar to the pedal harp sound. Best of luck with your harp search!

Just came across this video today. This is soooo beautiful!! I just love your playing :-). It’s so soothing and serene and sweet. You sound like a seasoned harpist already in less than a year. Amazing 👏👏 Bravo!! So you recorded this on a Salvi pedal harp and not the harp in the video? It sounds really good and it matched up really well with the playing in the video. Which harp is that?

Yes I also preferred the recording of my pedal harp when I still had it in comparison with the lever harp. It sounds deeper and fuller. Are you thinking of pedal harps eventually?

@@TracieLin yeah after renting the pedal harp I'm feeling tempted haha I love the richness especially in the upper range and some songs I want to play are impossible on the lever. Though the pedal harp seems like a lot more maintenance and investment required, and for some reason its a easier for me to connect to a lever harp, maybe its because I'm more used to it hehe what was your experience like in finding/owning a pedal harp? I know string tension was a downside for you?

Yeah I had trouble with the high string tension because my hands are pretty small and it was very strenuous for me to play for long . But it’s true that lever harps have their limits and you can’t play the very chromatic songs. So I kinda miss my pedal harp and wish I still had it sometimes. Like I said, you can never have too many harps LOL.
