When I first started my fitness journey 6 years ago, I didn't weigh myself. I tracked how loose my clothes were fitting. Then finally after about 9mos I got on the scale after the insistance of friends who noticed the change. I had lost 75 lbs. But it felt good not obsessing over the scale and just watching how my clothes fit. 😊 Eventually I started doing monthly weigh-ins to track my progress.

Ouch! This was the hardest thing to hear for me and others that practice the weekend day cheat! But we’re not getting the results we want because of that! Thank you Cori for encouraging and emphasizing the truth! 💪👍🏼

Under eating can definitely sabotage our weight loss results as it can lead to muscle being lost and metabolic adaptations. As weird as it may sound, sometimes we need to eat more to lose - redefiningstrength.com/eat-more-and-lose-fat-heres-how/

Hi Cori, it's as if you were talking directly to me. I am so guilty of eating that Friday night "fun" meal (i.e. pizza, fries) and telling myself it's okay because I've worked out all week, then relaxing on Saturday and enjoying whatever I want because it's a rest day. On Sunday it's go time again. Just this morning I was thinking that has to stop and I need to get back to those habits that helped me successfully lose weight in 2006 and keep it off. Thanks for the reminders and motivation. No way do I want to sacrifice all the hard work I've put in over the years because I let go of what worked. The things you mentioned still work because I tracked and measured and knew exactly what I needed to do to lose, gain and maintain my weight. I actually enjoyed food and eating was fun because I wasn't on a "diet" but a lifestyle change. You're the best Cori! Many blessings!

Loved this video, n you tryna put that cake mix n bowl in the oven. These are the same tips that helped me get started n see results. It’s easy to overeat when you’re consuming too much sugar or you’re not tracking it. Thanks, new follower 💕

I'm utterly hopeless with tracking. My kids ended up with dyslexia for a r-e-a-s-o-n! I always screw it up. So, I decided to go on a low-carb protocol. Fat and protein is so satiating that I have no difficulty cutting all food off at 5:00 pm, and fasting until the next morning. I lost over 200 pounds. I maintained it for five years. Now, my weight is creeping up again, and I'm going right back to protein sparing fasting (which is pretty much what a high-protein keto diet is); except out of consideration for my high heart disease risk and elevated triglycerides,, I'm consuming more nuts, tofu and olive oil than I did the first time.

Mannnn!! I hated this video cause it’s soooo true and truth HURTS! Oh well… I always kind of felt like that about net carbs and I really enjoy adding back calories based on my workout output cals but deep down I knew that was sabotaging my girls and now if you are telling me on this beautiful Sunday morning that everything I knew deep down it’s true! So yeah, I hate this video! And…… thank you!! 😘😘😘😘😘

I've had a lifetime of yoyo dieting, losing the same 10 -15 lbs over and over, by using calorie deficit. Really screwed up my body composition. I learned that when I got back down to a magic number and thought my clothes would fit just like before I was wrong.

Thank you so much for this video. WOW… I prepared and cooked my own recipes and always wondered how to enter the exact foods I am preparing into the “MyFitnessPal” call me clueless; Needless to say; I gave up on entering my info. Going forward I WILL enter all the ingredients by measuring before cooking my recipes. Again; Thank you so much for this knowledge; I appreciate it and all you do!! ❤

The answer is to stop snacking and eat the same dishes. Change your menu weekly to avoid boredom. If all meals are different every day u spend too much time logging dubious calories. Not ideal very frustrating

I swear you made this video for me! I have the hardest time logging because I’m such a grazer. I like the idea of creating a meal/recipe in the tracker. I eat many of the same things throughout the week and that’s part of my reason for not tracking each individual item. Thanks for the tips!

I would love an entire video dedicated to the weekend. The weekend is my downfall….can’t get it right. I work hard on my nutrition and exercise just to muck it up on the weekend just bc it’s the weekend ….hard to get out of this cycle. It’s a mental thing…obviously…..just can’t crawl out of it. Help.

If you do choose to weigh, the key is doing so consistently at the same time. So when there would be less impact from food or changes in hydration. So yes, first thing in the morning would be best 💩

Everybody’s body is different. But if you’re gonna cheat, know how to cheat. I usually give my body 2 to 3 days to burn off all sugar or fats on days where I eat fatty or sugary foods. My ideal weight when I wake up is 198. Once I eat, usually around late afternoon I’m usually 200 exactly. If I wake at 200lb I know to eat later and eat lean, less fatty foods. I also never eat really fatty or sugary foods on consecutive days (usually no more than twice a week). I only eat one full meal a day. Everything else is snacking in moderation. This approach works for me bcuz I’m at my ideal weight. Probably is not for everybody…

I'm down almost 100 lbs to date and accurate, precision tracking is ~crucial~. (An excerpt from my Medium article on how I did it): You won't know what's going on unless you know what's going on- and so much was revealed from my hair-catching-on-fire "I'm doing everything right!" days. Simply, I was NOT doing everything right. Don't look at tracking like a pain in the ass- look at it like a case to crack.

Who weighs themselves on a Sunday morning after going off their routine on Friday and Saturday? I weigh myself on Friday mornings, then act accordingly. I'll allow myself an indulgence or two on the weekend then get back on the horse on Monday.

Scales are BS. Scales have ruined peoples lives, they get so hung up on a number on a mechanical devise, it ruins their long term goals. That number on a mechanical devise sabotage's their progress and causes mental stress which in turn causes Cortisol to spike and putting on more fat. As you say, take photos, and measurements and use your eye to track progress. Every phone now has a camera, a tape measure can be purchased for about one dollar as can a body fat caliper for about two dollars, all much better options. The saying " Keep turning up, and be consistent, consistent, consistent ". The results will come if you follow this, but don't let the scales sabotage everything you are trying to achieve.
