Relive the magic of the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympics with the theme song, “Can’t You Feel It?” which was composed by David Foster for the games.
The performance of the song was held at the Opening Ceremony at McMahon Stadium on Feb 13, 1988.
Lyrics:
Now the moment we've waited for is coming true
And our hopes and our dream will soon go shining through
And the feeling we share this way
It's the feeling we know is here to stay
And whatever may come, we'll see it through remembering today.
Can't you feel it ? The spirit surrounds you!
Don't you feel it ? And now that it's found in you
Won't you feel it ? The feelin's everywhere
Can't you feel it here ...
We've all answered the call to come together here
And the moment of truth we know is coming near
But whatever the fates decide
We'll all play our parts here side by side
And the Calgary spirit will keep us all together through the years.
Can't you feel it ? The spirit surrounds you!
Don't you feel it ? And now that it's found in you
Won't you feel it ? The feelin's everywhere
Can't you feel it here ...
Now the trumpets have sounded, and the drums are still
And you've vowed that you'll do your best, and we know you will
We're not here just to cheer for fame
But for honor and truth, that's why we came
It's not whether you win that counts, but only how you play the game.
Can't you feel it ? The spirit surrounds you!
Don't you feel it ? And now that it's found in you
Won't you feel it ? The feelin's everywhere
Won't you feel it ...
Can't you feel it ...
Don't you feel it ...
