Good review BUT if you are a MS Office power user, especially Excel, you are better off with a windows laptop running the full desktop operating system. All the MS Office versions as Apps (Android, Windows Tablet, and IPad) or Web (Office365 in a browser) have a lot of missing features and functions e.g. no macro support and in Excel especially a lot of missions formulas and graphing tools. Like he said, for non media-creation/graphics work, sadly desktop OS and full versions of the software is needed.

Hi to all... i opted to buy tab s7 plus instead of s6. I bought it when it became available and received it since nov 2020... im loving it so far. It came with a keyboard and s pen plus buds live. Worth every penny. Im using it as a laptop, did my reports and presentation. I can also make my electronic prescription, electronic patient charts and all. However, like any android device, app optimization is still a problem. Overall, I so love s 7 plus.

I'm a technical drawing student (which is basically an architect subject) and I can tell u, a laptop is better for student work, especially AutoCAD, AutoCAD is way better in a laptop or PC. I use a tablet for entertainment

Thanks for this video. I really appreciate your efforts and candid opinion on Galaxy Tab S6. My concerns is whether Tab S6 can be used to developed web apps (html, CSS, js including node.js) and backend/server based stuff like php. Not as a main device for this but when you are caught up on a journey or somewhere you can't access your main device?

There are tools for this king of coding on Android, but the functionalities are limited compared to a laptop, you can check Open Hub app or AWD app, but I still can't recommend them as much as using a laptop. Glad you liked the video too!

Best tip ever I've just got from this video: Uninstaled Rush from my Note 10+ and installed it from the Galaxy Store: It is now WAY cheaper soy now I'will pay for it :-) (installed before from Play Store and it was too expensive in my country)

My experience on Samsung DEX (S4 tablet) using Office 365 is disappointing..... many excel functions are unavailable, such as cell "tracing" and word doesn't properly display the document, many line and drawing on my document is "not properly displayed and appeared missing". I strongly discourage anyone who is keen to waste money and use Office 365 on the Andriod device.

Have you tried Linux on DeX for engineering use ? You can have Ubuntu and then use a lot more of developer tools. I've only tried with my S9 and a HDMI cable so without mouse and keyboard I just tried a few minutes but it seemed good to me.

It's kinda pre-installed but you only get to try if free for a month... As the screen is slightly above the 10.1" free limit that microsoft has for their free mobile apps. So you have to get office 365 subscription to get it to edit documents. Kinda a failure for such an expensive tablet and you get the apple versions for free on ipads....

I appreciate the details you went into with this video. I am currently thinking about buying the Galaxy s6 tab and you kind of helped reinforce my thoughts on purchasing one.I currently have a laptop, it's an HP laptop and it's okay but I mostly use it for video editing like my GoPro videos. Sometimes I'll recording 2K video sometimes in 4k and it just doesn't keep up very well. The HP Laptop just isn't powerful enough and the GoPro app on my laptop is just very laggy. So without coughing up over $1,000 I was looking at a alternate powerhouse to my laptop to use to edit/process my videos. My next question is, does the Galaxy tab 6 piggyback the 4g off my Note 10+ for internet connectivity or do I have to make a "WiFi hotspot" to connect the Galaxy tab 6 to the internet?

This is stupidly misleading! The microsoft office on this tablet is NOT exactly the same as those on Windows computer. You can only use MOBILE VERSION of Microsoft office with limited features in this tablet, same with the office you installed on all android devices or ios devices, while the Microsoft office on a windows computer is a full feature software!

I do NOT recommend to use it for programming at college. I am pretty sure in most colleges you should be working with x86 CPU architecture, in most cases it's study software development in the Visual Studio that you can't use on any iOS or Android device (including Samsung Galaxy Tab S6). I think it's better to buy small and cheaper (and even slow) device from MS Surface based on the Intel x86 CPU and use it for wide range of tasks.

So Tab S6 vs Ipad Pro. I have both. Laptop replacement? Tab s6 running dex with the keyboard case is the winner(there is a trend on these reviews saying the keyboard case back is adhesive, and it loses its stick but this is %100 false, it is a surprisingly effective rubber mount that relies on suction, people complaining that it wont go back on 1. Need to clean the Tab and the rubber ring and 2 stop removing it so often, its not designed to be removed all the time) . Emailing, simple word docs and file transfering. S6 files system is so easy to navigate and as close to a pc as youll get from an android tab. Drawing and design? Ipad pro, running affinity designer and procreate, apple pen is 10x better for drawing and way less latancy. Im a Samsung fanboy, but im a graphics designer, Ipad wins here unfortunately. Ipad pro 12.9 with apple pencil 2 is still the gold standard for close-to professional design setup. And will have a 3 to 4 year life with the current spec standards. Gaming and media consumption, Tab s6 is the clear winner, the ability to connect my 8Bitdo controller and having compatability across the board for games to emulators. Also emulators run really well on the s6 such as ePSX and Damon Ps2. This tab runs san andreas better then my ps2 did back in the day. And the SPen feels good for point and tap games like buldurs gate and runescape. Samsung "Ecosystem" Tab s6 connects to the buds as easily as the phones and latency free. Buds paired with your watch or phone? Simply open the galaxy wearables app and it will automatically connect to the Tab from now on until you open the wearables app on the phone. And vice versa. Simples
