🎲 Game Rules ♟
In Coup, you want to be the last player with influence in the game, with influence being represented by face-down character cards in your playing area.
Each player starts the game with two coins and two influence - i.e., two face-down character cards; the fifteen card deck consists of three copies of five different characters, each with a unique set of powers:
Duke: Take three coins from the treasury. Block someone from taking foreign aid.
Assassin: Pay three coins and try to assassinate another player's character.
Contessa: Block an assassination attempt against yourself.
Captain: Take two coins from another player, or block someone from stealing coins from you.
Ambassador: Draw two character cards from the Court (the deck), choose which (if any) to exchange with your face-down characters, then return two. Block someone from stealing coins from you.
On your turn, you can take any of the actions listed above, regardless of which characters you actually have in front of you, or you can take one of three other actions:
Income: Take one coin from the treasury.
Foreign aid: Take two coins from the treasury.
Coup: Pay seven coins and launch a coup against an opponent, forcing that player to lose an influence. (If you have ten coins or more, you must take this action.)
When you take one of the character actions - whether actively on your turn, or defensively in response to someone else's action - that character's action automatically succeeds unless an opponent challenges you. In this case, if you can't (or don't) reveal the appropriate character, you lose an influence, turning one of your characters face-up. Face-up characters cannot be used, and if both of your characters are face-up, you're out of the game.
If you do have the character in question and choose to reveal it, the opponent loses an influence, then you shuffle that character into the deck and draw a new one, perhaps getting the same character again and perhaps not.
The last player to still have influence - that is, a face-down character - wins the game!

When they follow the rules more closely it's even better. Every card removed from play has to be revealed. What that means is it reveals who's lying and puts pressure on the people claiming the role in question: revealed a Duke yet 3 more Dukes are still in play? Suspicious.

As much as I don't want to be negative towards the channel it was very hard to watch because of how many incorrect rules they were playing. Just to note a few... The Contessa can only block assassination attempts toward herself. When the Ambassador switches to get new role cards he can choose from his original 2 cards as well. Also you do not lose an influence card at random you choose which you want to keep. There were other mistakes too but I hope they look into because I know this is game that they will continue to play, hope its sorted out and either way love the channel keep up the good work :] still liked the video

and correctly, someone who had cortessa could of saved bchoi from getting assassinated but I don't think any of them would of helped xD Also I'm sure all removed cards have to be revealed cause there's 3 of each. So if 2 dukes are out and 3 people at still claiming duke, it means 2 are lying but you still have to guess who. edit: notice the pile of cards never got smaller, like mentioned before eliminated cards are removes and they stay faced up until the game is over, never go back to the deck to be used again. Meaning as more cards are removed and revealed you can narrow your guess to what the others have.

And it's no surprise that Geo betrayed Bart & Tiff bc Geo knows that Bart & Tiff will always side with her, so those two are easy targets for Geo lol. Joe is a threat to Geo so she she would try to eliminate him since Julia is an easy last target.

Nobel Winardi I know that she could have easily assumed what he was. However, I think that’s just further reason why he should’ve been her target. In her position instead of targeting Choi I would’ve accumulated wealth and done a coup against joe in hopes of getting rid of that card.

I think Joe knew he had no chance when there was only 3 of them left. So he played the game in a way to give Julia the win. Julia coming out as contessa just prolonged the game a little and didn't really affect the game because Geo would die anyway. Head to head at the end, Julia would win regardless whether Joe had challenged her or not because Joe would have to pay the 3 coins for assassinating Geo, giving Julia the lead to perform a coup.

Julia had 6 coins. Joe had 3. Captain can only steal 2 coins at the time. Say Joe steal from Julia making her go down to 4 coins. Then Joe would have 5. Julia would tax 3, and be 7. Joe would steal 2 coins again, to be 7. But once he steal he can't coup. He can't coup AND steal. Next turn Julia would tax again for 3, and be 10. Then coup. She would have won regardless. You need 8 to coup.

Julia takes 3 again (makes it 7 in total) Joe steals again (makes his total go to 7 & Julia's go down to 5) Julia takes 3 again (total goes to 8) but can't coup him till her next turn so since Joe already has 7 at that point, coup's her and wins.

I love this game but you guys played really wrong. -You did the ambassador wrong. You're supposed to take 2 from the deck then out of the 4 you now have (or three if you have already lost one influence) pick 2 to keep and put the other 2 at the bottom of the deck. -You're also supposed to reveal the card if you lose an influence and it's out of the game.(its also supposed to be up to the player to chose which card they lose but I like the player who killed you choosing, makes it more interesting) -You start off with 2 coins each. -Bart should have lost his coins even if someone challenged or blocked him. -Bchoi should have lost both of his influences and Geo should have still spent 3 coins. He loses both for being called out and being assassinated and Geo still assassinates no matter what. -Geo should have lost coins every time she tried to assassinate someone. Even if it gets blocked or challenged you still have to pay. -Only the people being attacked can challenge or block. You can block or challenge actions like a Duke taking 3 coins or Abassador switching cards if you think they're lying about having that card but if the action is directed at a person, only they can block/challenge. -And not really something wrong but a tip if you only have one influence left you should always challege the player who's trying to take you out cause you don't have anything to lose.

I'm happy they played this game, however I wish they had played by the official rules. An example would be when they lose an influence, instead of the player killing them picking a random card and putting it back into the deck face down. You're supposed to let the player losing the influence pick which one they want to lose then they put it face up in front of them, completely eliminating that card from the game. Another thing they did different was, for the Ambassador, for example if you have two cards you're allowed to grab two more from the deck (so 4 total) then pick 2 cards to put back (meaning you can keep your orginal 2 cards). For the last thing they did different, and this one didn't really bother me it's just weird: blocking other player actions. For the Duke blocking foreign aid is fine but things like Contessa blocking other people assassinating someone that isn't them is weird. They don't say you can or can't do that but this is the first time I've seen people do that. Same with Ambassador and Captain blocking other people from stealing money from players that aren't themselves. (Wow.... this is kinda an essay oops. And I get it house rules whatever you can play like how JK crew do. I just like the official rules I feel it makes for better game play. 🤷‍♀️)

Joe could have won if he stole Julia's cards at the end. Julia had 6. Joe steals 2 -would have been at 5 and Julia would have been at 4. Julia takes tax, she's at 7 but she wouldn't be able to Coup because it's no longer her turn. Joe steals another 2 and then hes at 7 and Julia is now at 5. She would need to take tax to be at 8 but once again it's no longer her turn, so she can't Coup. Joe is now at 7 and is able to Coup Julia and win.

Thus he would have 0 coins as a captain against Julia's duke with 3 coins. 0-3(start) 6-0((Julia takes 3 coins, Duke) 4-2 (Joe steals 2 coins, Captain) 7-2 (Julia takes 3 coins, Duke) 5-4 (Joe steals 2 coins, Captain) 8-4 (Julia takes 3 coins, Duke) 6-6 (Joe steals 2 coins, Captain) 9-6 (Julia takes 3 coins, Duke) 7-8 (Joe steals 2 coins, Captain) (Rounds 8) Julia: Coup. She would've won :)

This was literally the most frustrating game of Coup I've ever witnessed....

@@skylertrucia3224 not to nitpick because these videos are all about having fun, but some examples of mistakes are: 1. Ambassador can look at the cards in the middle and pick any 2 (or 1 if they have 1 life only) including their own original. 2. When you lose influence, it is revealed and out of the game. 3. Lying as contessa to avoid an assassination attempt and being challenged leads to two influence losses.
