How timely that I saw this excellent video because I am cooking bacon in my Ninji Foodie in the morning. I’m gonna try doing a whole lb.

I put an entire pkg bacon in Foodi tonight and turned out perfect...Used bake/roast 360F and 20 min...I added 3 min for a total of 23 min cook time. No more batches for me. From now on, it will always be the entire pkg. thank you for sharing this great tip.

I cooked two pounds yesterday on the air fryer mode. Just toss it around every 5 minutes until it's done and it doesn't really take longer than one pound. I jus throw the leftovers I. The fridge and it's good to go for the next few days! 👍🏼

Hello Lisa. Quite honestly, bacon is my amber nectar of the gods, I am Mr. Bacon or Mr. Sizzler and I have put a whole pack of bacon in my Foodi and it was deliciously awesome!! Would love to see your BLT though you make cooking an art form.

Thank you! Bacon makes everything taste better-it should be at the top of the food pyramid-lol. I was getting impatient having to cook 5-6 at a time so I decided to just put the entire pound in and see what happens. I air crisped 2 pounds of bacon the other day-lol. Don't worry not a single piece was lost :) Good thing my brother and nephews stopped by they ate it in no time. Working on the BLT video....need more bacon!

My Ninja Foodi manual says to drape the bacon slices over the basket so I guess half hangs in and half hangs on the outer portion. Has anyone tried that method? Seems like that would prevent them curling up like in the above video
@pressurecrisp5 жыл бұрын
You can use your trivet that came with it and drape bacon and it very straight. Only did this once. It depends on what I’m using the bacon for- the way I cook it. Thanks Alan Davis!
@breathephoto4 жыл бұрын
Yes, we do bacon this way and it turns out great. Follow instructions in book. We do 16 minutes at 330. Bacon comes out mostly straight (with the bend in the middle). If you are careful, and don’t overlap the pieces, you don’t need to turn it at all. Just set it and let it go. And yes, you can do 1 pound at a time.

I have about 6-8 pairs of sissors that stay on my kitchen. They work wonders for opening bacon packages and things like that. I love them. AND my kids are old enough to know not to use them for anything outside the kitchen. - Bev

Thanks Lisa for the video. Since I have my NF that the only way I cook my bacon but I slice it in half & under cook it so I can reheat in the microwave when I need it. Love BLT with any kind of bread lol
@pressurecrisp5 жыл бұрын
I like the microwave idea-great tip! The bread is so important-well to me. I usually make a homemade loaf of white bread when I make BLT's. This past weekend I didn't I purchase the bread. But the bread has to hold up to the juices from the tomato as well as stay together for the crunchy bacon and crispy lettuce. Oh and then there's the mayo-lol. The tomato season is short. So I do have a BLT at least once a week. Love them! Thanks for the tip and comment! You have been with me since the beginning it will be a year in November-Thank you!

Do you have any suggestions or experience on cleaning the air crisp basket feet? It seems like mine is really hard to clean.
@pressurecrisp5 жыл бұрын
I usually soak the bowl with the basket in it eat the meal then clean everything. And I do have to scrub it with a green scrubby- I did this with the basket and now everything sticks to it just ordered another basket. But I do find the basket and the basket feet a pain to clean. Thanks!

That's a lot of splatter there, I would think you would have to clean your lid while its hot. But Love your idea, Love BLT's. and your videos.
@pressurecrisp4 жыл бұрын
I try to wipe it when its still hot but. if there is a lot of splatter I will do. the steam methods to clean it. Boil some water with vinegar and then close the lid and let the steam work its magic then wipe it really good! BLT's are the best! thanks Buck!

So my question, considering the mess, would you use the Foodi again for bacon or would you recommend the oven? And thanks for doing this video, I've wondered how a full pound would work in the Foodi.
@pressurecrisp4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ms. Vicki, I always use the ninja foodi or grill for bacon. Can'y remember the last time I used the oven for anything-unless. I'm baking a large amount of baked goods. I'm going to try cooking a full pound in the Ninja Foodi Grill this weekend-just to see how it compares to the foodi. Thanks Ms. Vicki!

That is good to know you can Cook one whole package of bacon 🥓 I love bacon 🥓 and my cast-iron loves the bacon grease. I have a container of bacon grease in my refrigerator for all my cast-iron.

Also lovee the cast iron, I have bought high dollar post and pans, That could be good dog food bowls, but My cast iron is the only we cook here. Little more maintenance but worth it.

Hi Lisa. I swear I could smell that bacon cooking all the way up here in Ontario Canada! LOL I have a question about cleaning the Foodi lid. I have seen some folks who just give it a wipe after they cook something like bacon where there is some splatter of grease, but I have seen some others who actually remove the air crisp grills from the lid to give the lid a better clean since it is hard to do with the grill on. How have you been cleaning and maintaining your Food lid? I have been using my Foodi for almost a year now, and the lid looks fine. I have been just giving it a careful wipe each time, but I am wondering if I should be doing a more thorough clean every so often. What do you think? Thanks so much for your experience and guidance.
@pressurecrisp5 жыл бұрын
We have cooked so much bacon lately-lol. BLT's tomatoes have a very short season in upstate NY. So enjoying them while we can. After every use is best-wipe down with soapy cloth or sometimes I use vinegar. But I have been purposely not cleaning the lid on my 6.5Qt just to do a video on a gunked up, greased up mess-which it currently is. I really don't want to take things apart-I did think about it-lol. Maybe in the future I will. But to clean this greasy mess I think I'm going to do what a lot of others have done. Boil some vinegar water or lemon water and close the crisper lid let the lid get super moist and let the steam work on the grease and grime. Then use a sponge and some brushed to get in to the nooks and crannies. I will be doing that video this weekend. Your doing to be appalled by how dirty it is but figured it would make a good video on how to clean the ninja foodi. P.S. You live in a beautiful country. I've only been to a few places but hope to travel more in Canada in the coming years. Would like to take a train across Canada. From Albany, NY up to Montreal then to British Columbia!
@annekingsmill35505 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the excellent tip on cleaning the lid. I am looking forward to that how to video. I have always wanted to do a train across Canada too. There is a lovely one through the Rockies. I think it is the Rocky Mountaineer. Quebec City is very nice. We've been there twice. We've done Victoria. BC and St. Johns, NFLD. Both are places we want to go back to some day. Especially St. Johns. @@pressurecrisp

doesn't it essentially take longer than frying it? IDK I feel like frying a whole pound of bacon doesn't take 20+ minuets.
@pressurecrisp5 жыл бұрын
I think if you separated into batches and cooked in the Ninja Foodi it would take just as long. The bacon isn't flat and long but it was going on a BLT. So depending on the use I would fry the bacon. Thanks for watching and commenting.
