I appreciate that you do these comparisons because these are the real cameras people are comparing themselves, thanks so much!

Talk about knowing your audience! I was hesitating between those 2 cams, because I already have fuji x mount lenses. In the end decided to go with the X-M5 because I mainly shoot video on tripod, so the lack of ibis is not a (big) issue. Also as you mentioned more freedom with the lens and the settings were an advantage of the X-M5. But great little camera that OP3. Nice vid too!!

You can also update the firmware on Fuji cameras via the mobile app

You.should be able to download the Fujifilm X App and do firmware with phone or iPad. It works fine with my X100VI & X-S20. Also glad you’re expanding from just Sony.

Thanks for the good advice on firmware updates. -good to know, I’m glad you like the expansion

The XS-20 is quite the little gem. Perfect size for travel stills and video, I prefer it to my bulky Nikon gear I use for work. The Pocket 3 is perfect for those candid discrete videos when traveling.

@ having IBIS ,EVF & a large battery is nice.

14:30 Focus drifting. Fuji comes out ahead in image quality. They don't mess with HDR. I still use packet 1 because it does not have HDR and the lens is 28mm instead of 20mm.

Hey man thx for this awesome face to face comparison. To be fair, I would cut the sharpness by -2 on the pocket cause it's way too digital for my taste, but the dynamic range is awsome on this little device. Thanks again !

Hey! Would you ever consider reviewing a MFT option such as the GH7 or G9ii?
@expreso8 сағат бұрын
la osmo pocket 3 es muy buena, ojalá dji haga también alguna cámara tipo x-m5 o zv-e10ii

Excellent review, thank you. I own both cameras and you are absolutely accurate on every point. I love both cameras. The X M5 I’m going to keep clean and without a cage. I’m too lazy to do this kind of extensive comparison so much thanks to you for all your work.

Honestly, for everything you shoot handheld the pocket 3 outperforms everything without a gimbal imo. Especially for the quality files you get out of that small price. Unless you want to take photos with an "actual camera" i dont see the need to go above the pocket 3 for most content edit: its insane how good that tiny sensor is, also im shooting on a x-t5 and a fat gimbal but usually just carry my older pocket 2 just for convenience bc even that one is already enough for most scenarios

Thanks for that insight. Yes it is very insane how good the Osmo Pocket 3 is. No wonder why it’s so popular

I have both. I use both. When possible, I prefer X-M5 6k Open Gate video - especially at low light. Or at night with very little light. And of course for RAW photos. Otherwise the Pocket 3 is a good option - especially when combined with one or two DJI Mic 2 has to be used and controlled. And charging the Pocket 3 at ~35W is VERY fast from a powerbank on the go. It doesn’t hurt, that the X-M5 can be used to record open gate 12-bit ProRES RAW to my Ninja V, replacing my Linux S5 12-bit ProRES RAW in a pinch should it ever fail. As always YMMV! Regards

Thanks for sharing, and love your setup. Do you use them as a-cam b-cam or as separate cameras for different uses?
@winnegehetoch13 сағат бұрын
@@thefilmallianceI use X-M5 near exclusively on travel as main camera with pocket 3 for special situations and other requirements. For ProRES RAW my Lumix S5 is my goto camera. Too big for intercontinental travel restrictions these days. Never needed a second, concurrent camera angle, but for travel I currently combine Pocket 3 for varied handheld shots with the X-M5 using an adapted 10-18 mm EF-S lens at max wide (15 mm FF eqv) for “scenery” and “atmosphere”. I’m sure, I will find other dual-device (X-M5 and Pocket 3) travel use cases - at the latest during coming carnevals in two or three citys over 11-12 days. Should be fun… Regards

Fuji is made to capture photographs. Osmo is for video. You need both.
