Can the Vochlea Dubler do House Music?

Welp, I tried to work with it...I actually spent many hours outside of recording this video, and it just wasn't a fit for my workflow. While I think the concept is SUPER dope, I think the application is something that is much more complicated that many basic reviews of the technology lead you to believe. Dope tool none the less...but not for me.

Good video. I've been thinking of getting this just to help speed up the process of getting ideas out. Just wondering though, have you used it more recently with the updates etc? Seems like it has possibly been refined a bit since this video was made. Would be interested to know what you think, if you've been using it since it's been updated etc.

I'm tired of sequencing in hardware, so I'm investigating how the Dubler might integrate with stuff like my MC-101 & UNO Synth. But this is a very helpful intro to how it works out in general, including the trickiness of controlling your own voice.

yea.. i tried it for many more sessions past this video. This was a RAW first look. I will tell you this much, I still prefer to sequence with a trusty piece of hardware that can record midi via a keyboard. These days if I am writing music, I tend to use a keyboard and 5pin midi into my Digitakt and do the do in that bad boy. But I am heavy on the keys with everything I like to do.. its just my natural flow I suppose.

Yo that’s crazy I got mine yesterday and I was feeling the same way. But I realize I need to train how to use it because it requires clarity over expression. and I can beatbox pretty well but there is a learning curve as you said. Buuuut there are ppl that do it super well. Thanks for sharing at least I'm not alone 🎙

I felt the same way too when I tried the V2 demo. Bass was tough to lay down but when it came to leads it was pretty "ok"

Does it work well with speaker or only best with headphone listening?

its has a similar pattern to an SM58. So it all depends on how loud and the direction of where the "speaker" sound is coming from. I found that using it like I would use an SM58 for recording with "lower volume" with a same direction sound orientation of the monitors....things worked without issue.

@@Coflo And it's own microphone is better tham sm58? I have sm58 but if its better for Dubler i will buy it woth Dubler2,what yiu think more optimized for Dubler or unnecessary?

@@frattuncbas Iits very similiar in terms of recording quality; however, Doubler is not just software the microphone it self is a USB midi device. You cannot run an SM58 and the Vochlea software. YOU MUST run the Doubler with the software.
