This is true. Some of the ladies are sorority sisters, so they are eternally bonded cause of the oath pledge they took together in college. Smh *I had 5 ladies in my wedding back in the day and looking back, that was too many. Only 2 out of the 5 were actual dear friends. The others were close associates or their spouse was n the wedding and we didn't want to leave the other spouse out.

If magenta is pink, so is red. At least red has the history of being the same as pink - the name for pink and red was the same for centuries. Magenta is often in between, and different people will have different opinions. And this magenta was pretty dark for a "pink."

When my brother got married I was one of 4 bridesmaid plus the maid of honor. We all had the same dress with the 4 bridesmaids being in pink and the maid of honor being in a darker pink. Our dresses were about $200 plus alterations and shoes. We did our own hair and makeup. This was in 1987 before everyone went and got all boujee and decided they had to have wedding planners, venues, and everyone had to have their hair, makeup done professionally. We did all go and get our nails done but that was a gift from the bride. We also got beautiful necklaces to wear for the wedding as gifts too. The groomsmen all rented their tuxes and even their shoes. If you're going to one of the shops that's on SYTTD you have the money especially if you're chosen for an episode. So suck it up buttercup.

However, when she sent out that email, the bridesmaid should have responded back immediately with their objections such as that $500 was too high and the price that they would be willing to pay. When you have someone sending out a demand email like that, and you don’t respond with objections, than the person sending the demand email will assume that you agree. If you know that other people have the same objection that you do, your best bet is to reply all with your objection nicely worded. “Thank you for asking me to be your bridesmaid. I am honored. However, I simply cannot spend $500 on a dress. I can go up to 200, but that is my ceiling. if a dress is selected, that is more than $200, I will need to deduct that from other wedding expenses, such as your wedding gift, or I will need you to pay the difference. If that is not acceptable, I understand. I would still love to attend your wedding As a regular guest, and I would still love to help you with the labor involved with your wedding, such as set up for running errands.”

If you do not pay for your bridesmaids‘ dresses, you can not dictate everything about it - especially as it is so expensive and they won‘t be able to wear the dress to ANY other occasion. I suggest to choose a few colours that fit into the colour theme of the wedding (and that are going to look good on most / all of the bridesmaids) and check-in with the bridesmaids on which colours they would prefer. Then choose the most popular colour for the dress. The bride could also set a few “mandatory” key features that ALL dresses should (or “must”) have - for example being floor-length; being sleeveless, yet having some form of straps; being appropriate for the occasion - everything else could be decided by each bridesmaid themselves. So, all bridesmaids wear a beautiful dress that looks stunning on them and that perfectly fits their individual bodies, is in their price range and that they are excited to wear on other occasions. If the bride pays for all the bridesmaids dresses she CAN choose any dress she wants - no matter how expensive, unflattering or just plain ugly it is. She SHOULD NOT do it and act like a bridezilla, but “technically” she has the right… In this video, the bridezilla is just ridiculous! Personally, I do not like her wedding dress - but to each their own. The comparison of that ugly purple dress with a garbage bag is actually perfectly fitting. It looks like a sketch of a dress from the 80s that was never realised and tossed out due to it lacking ANY sense of fashion or taste even at that time. You wouldn’t catch me dead in that dress 🤢 Pour bridesmaids - how bad must the peer group pressure or the social implications be in order for them not speaking up and dropping out of the wedding party. The bride already proved herself not to be their friend, not caring about their opinions, thoughts, feelings or wellbeing. The girls seem to be just props - means to an end - in her play … eeeeh wedding… in order to show off or gain some illusory status.

I'm 70 years old and have never spent $500 on a dress. Coats and purses, yes. I certainly wouldn't spend it on a BRIDESMAID dress. But, I never had a friend who would expect me to do that.
