@@batsonelectronics They intentionally make it so that it is impossible for the first person to get to 200. There are several episodes where Steve said the first person got all the number one answers after the second person won for them

@@krfan5459 if you logically think thru the problem, there are questions where there could be 2 or 3 good answers and a few not as good that would divide up the 100 as 35 or less for each answer. If the question ( like which food ending in "berry" ) has only 2 or 3 total answers, the likelihood of the 1st answer being ~50 is much more likely. In this episode I would be surprised if the #1 answer was not 6+ points ahead of her answer as I would have said blueberry myself and not in a million years thought blackberry, yet blackberry was almost enough to reach 200. It may be that the questions asked have too many possible answers and that brings the highest 2 answers down to

@@batsonelectronics I'm not saying that you are wrong. Your logic makes total sense. In fact, back in the day, the first person could win all by themselves. All I'm saying is that they intentionally choose questions based on the #1 answer's point values so that, in today's Family Feud, the first person cannot win on their own. They pick a variety of questions where the number of points the #1 gets vary greatly. Some #1 answers may get low 20's, where others will get 50 or more. I might also add that there has been a time where the second person got 0 points.

Even before I saw the video, I knew the answer was "no." Since Steve started hosting, it's questions are categorized so that even five number ones won't total 200 or more. However, I do remember one instance of it happening in the Ray Combs era.

It can still be done but 2 things have to be in play for it to happen: 1. The first player gets all #1 answers (which has been done) 2. At least 1, maybe 2 of those answers are absolute slam dunk #1 answers (45 points or more) You've had situations where 1 or 2 have been in play, but the stars haven't aligned for both to happen in 1 run on Fast Money

There is an episode on KZbin from when Ray Combs was the host. The first person got the 200 points, so Ray pranked the second person by asking stupid, nonsensical questions. It was hilarious.

Sometimes 200 points are available on the left hand side, sometimes not. If you watch Fast Money and keep track of the points and whether or not the answers on the left or right side are number one answers, sometimes you can tell if 200 points could have been had on the left side but if the number one answers for one or more questions nevertheless only score in the 20s or 30s, it's going to be hard to get to 200. I don't think the producers would put up a question set where 200 points can't be had no matter what and it wouldn't surprise me if they don't have some algorithm to get the maximum number of available points within a certain range over 200.

The question n the title is, "Can Tracy score 200 points on her own??" and I believe the answer is "NO!". Not anymore. It used to be possible but I'm pretty sure currently the producers purposely make it impossible by making sure the total points of the number one answers to the five questions add up to just under 200. Therefore it CANNOT be done anymore. And personally I think it's good policy. It's more interesting to me if both players have to contribute on some level. I also like that the time allowed used to be 15 & 20 seconds, now it's 20/25. I think that's a good way to compensate for requiring both players to contribute.

Wow we can only wonder had she said Strawberry. What woulda, coulda, or shoulda happened. It all depends on how many people said Strawberry. Blackberry had 32 people, which adding her other answers gave her 194, had Strawberry been worth 36 points she still would not have gotten to 200. She would have been shy 2 points. Now of course they don’t ever tell us what the remaining answers are worth or what the #1 answer that was not given is worth. Strawberry could’ve been worth anywhere from 33-68 points. Remember 100 people were surveyed we already know 32 people gave BlackBerry as an answer that leaves 68 people. But considering they had so many other choices who knows what the remaining 68 people gave as an answer.

I don't think that Tracy could possibly have gotten 200 points because I frankly believe that the Family Fued coordinators use a combination of surveys that never equal more than 199 points.

There was one episode... don't remember the host...where the first contestant got over 200 points all by herself. When the second contestant came out, the host gave the second contestant BS questions for all five questions. In other words, YES, the answers could easily add up to 200 for just one contestant. Because it's happened before.
