While the game may be one thing, I’ve always talked about how much the sport has evolved. And how people will talk about those dudes like Liddell and Machida as if they would level everyone nowadays. The sport has grown and evolved so much that I genuinely believe anyone even in the top 10 of any of the weight classes would make incredibly light work of the legends of back then. The sport is just so different now.

@@boopkal4716 Oh, definitely. It’s not really so much against the fighters themselves, just the state of the sport in general. The lowest level of competition is leagues beyond what it used to be, and it’s way more difficult to get to the championship level nowadays. I’m not really too into basketball but it’s the same kinda thing as when people compare LeBron to Jordan. It’s kinda hard to say Jordan’s all that much better when the majority of people he was playing against back then, wouldn’t even make it onto a college team nowadays. It’s the same with all sports, really. The game evolves. Athleticism evolves. Diets evolve.

The rebounding, defence, physicality, and post scoring was better in jordans era. The shooting, playmaking, ball handling, etc are better now. But in mma everything has improved since back den besides maybe power cuz back den they were juiced
