This past October of 2023 I was rated 70 % PTSD and a static condition I’ve had since 2008 of 40%. My total over all ratings 80%. I filed within 30 days after receiving the 70% rating in October for TDIU and I received my decision in February of this year 2024 of 100% P&T with TDIU ! My SSI decision in 2008 stated by Social Security stated then I was unemployable in 2008 which I also used my Social Security decision as evidence along with my evidence from the VA exams leading up to my 80% in October 2023. I’m 73 years old I’ll be 74 in February 2025 and I’m now 100% P&T with TDIU with my conditions being static. (Vietnam Veteran) 👍🇺🇸👍

I applied for TDIU in Sep 2023, was denied and closed as MOOT because I became 100% P&T in March 2024. I appealed because my I have not been able to work since May 2023 because of my depression and other things. I won the appeal and granted the TDIU back dated to last day of work. age 55

Can I Please ask a question? I am going through something similar, now. I was in an accident in 2021, the day I went on terminal leave. put the military will not grant me TDIU for the time I was in physical therapy and not able to work. Did you do a supplemental, HLR, or hire a lawyer?
@johnb15713 ай бұрын
@@theonlyone-xc3pu I did an appeal with a lay-statement that laid everything out in timeline order. VA already had the evidence. I also got a Vocational Expert as well (~$1400). The VE memo with everything else got my TDIU back dated to the day after my last day of work (2 months difference from 100%P&T). The VA does not have the ability to rule against a VE. I also used the same VE memo to send in for SSDI claim as well. That claim is still ongoing. I hope this helps, Good Luck!!

I am 74. I got TDIU 100% P&T 2 years ago. I am 90% scheduler. I did have to apply for an increase. My only health problems are because of my disability. I have a condition on the service presumption, chronic disease list.
@silverdon553 ай бұрын
I did. Age is not and has never been an issue regarding disability from the VA. There have been several attempts to make it so but they have all failed to date.

I’m 63 and am 80% overall rating and have been receiving benefit tdiu. I have been since 2000. I am supposed to be untouchable after 20 years of continuous disability and tdiu. Should I be concerned?? Am I not grandfathered in?

I am 66, combined service connected disability rating of 70. My lawyer petitioned for TDIU and was denied.

I just turned 66 a few days ago. Since 2006, when VA finally admitted that I had a Military Service Connected Disability, I am 100% P/T or T/P, (I get it mixed up). But, what I would like to know is can I be qualified to receive TDIU based on my present rating from VA???

Tdiu/Iu applies to any age. It doesn’t matter if you already had a career and are retired. As long as you meet the criteria for tdiu you are eligible to apply for it. Age doesn’t matter for va benefits. Being 55 doesn’t matter either.

I am 66 years old a retired Navy with 100% disability rating and collecting SS, can I apply for TDIU (and I don't know what TDIU stands for)?
@johnmartin98233 ай бұрын
TDIU is Total Disability Individual Unemployability. It means you can draw at a 100% rating if you are not rated at 100%. I guess you could apply for it but, since you are already drawing at 100%, it would do nothing for you. You cannot draw both. And a scheduked 100% rating is much better than TDIU.
@tkdbob20213 ай бұрын
100% scheduler you can still work with no income limitation. TDIU has a very low income limit from working a job. There are some exceptions but few and far between. If you like being retired and not working then it doesn’t matter. I wouldn’t rock the boat but that’s just me.
