Yes, but this guy talks like a robot. And can not be part of conversation. Its so annoying in the podcast when he just cuts Patrick and talks like 3 minutes and completely moves out of topic already. He does this thing, where he asks a question and then answers it by himself. Not a big fan of him in the podcast, rather listen him to these monologs…

I think it is worth remembering a couple of things about Jonas/Pogi situation. 1) The gap in 2023 was larger than in 2024. 2) Even if Jonas did his best W/kg numbers in 2024 (on select stages), his overall performance over 3 weeks was worse than in 2023. 3) His absolute power was also significantly lower and they were going at speeds where draft definetly matters, and was basically riding with Pogi in his wheel the last week and a half. 4) Jonas was lacking both the acceleration and endurance he has shown previously and you could see him getting emtpy instead of getting stronger towards the end of the tour. All in all I think it is very hard to say both who would have won last year and who will win in 2025but I think it will be very close.

If neither is injured, Pogacar. He was already climbing better than Jonas in 2023 on a few occasions during the Tour without a perfect preparation and carrying the wrist injury. Jonas was not climbing better than Pogi on any climb this year Plus, in the past 2020-2023 Pogacar had weaknesses that could be targeted and exploited. Now he doesn't

So yes the gap was bigger but the gap really came from 1 day where Pog bonked. Jumbo was not even setting pace when Pog got dropped. Other than that it was 1 minute from the TT the stage before… So yes the time gap was bigger for Jonas in 23 but the dominance was bigger for Pog in 24.

You should watch the 2023 Tour again. Tadej and Jonas were equal except for 2 days. The ITT and when Pogačar bonked. Other than that, it was equal. There was no point in 2024 where they were equal

9:22 I disagree a bit. Canyon-Sram has had some investments in their 2025 team which can help Kasia both in mountains and flats much more than in previous years. If Kasia gets better at time trialing that would be major boost for her. Demi has been in absolutely strongest team for past two years (...well yeah...), now it might be that playing field is much more level (...i mean, Wiebes might still crash her out in 2025...). Sure Demi is still the strongest, but i don't know which team can field best combination of riders to support their GC rider.

From a guy that watched all the Armstrong years, nowadays racing is so much interesting even with dominance. The main difference is that everyone can crack, everyone can have bad days. Back on time 90% of the cyclists were machines. Poor french guys that tried to play fair and won nothing.

Pogi will not beat MvdP in RVV. He did before but that was not the outrageous monuments Mathieu we saw this year and on the cobbles he is a class of his own. Lotte Kopecky will not win MSR because Cédrine Kerbaol does a nuclear descent from the Poggio and stays away.
@wukalea2 күн бұрын
He was the strongest on RVV two years in a row, won one of those, and Pogi will not beat MVDP for what reason? It can go either way for sure, but surely Pogacar can also beat MVDP, he is the best rider in the world by far, no one can match his motor and power.
@chrisridesbicycles2 күн бұрын
@ I‘m not saying Pogi has no chance but it is by far not as „we don‘t even have to start the race“ as Benji and Mr. Rouge tell us. Also, UAE might be the best team in the world but in my eyes that is mainly for gran tours. In cobble races, Alpecin is looking very good.
@BenjiNaesenTV2 күн бұрын
@@chrisridesbicycles Where in this video (or ever) did I say 'we don't even have to start the race'? I simply made a prediction that Pogi would win RVV. I certainly don't have the opinion that RVV is a pre-decided race when Pogi and MVDP are both at the start.
@chrisridesbicycles2 күн бұрын
@ It‘s in quotation marks (airquotes) for that. Of course you did not say that, it just comes across like that a bit. I think all competitors are very underrated based on the 2024 season. The many crashes in the classics led to riders being called up as a replacement and doing races where they were not the first choice which had influences on the races that were their plan A at the beginning. UAE and MvdP on the other side had a super clean run which has for sure to do with preparation but also with luck. (things like finishing Roubaix without a puncture for example still need luck)

I just hope I will not be watching a repeat of the Lance Era. Guess everyone know what I am refering too. Those that were around in those years and even earlier remember how it looked. If a whole team been taken under the care of some dubious trainers/doctors this time it will be a new US Postal Service, or Telekom. Festina, Gerolsteiner. It was ugly those years and many (sadly even me) vouched there were no foul play. In the years after it became obvious so 5 years down the road we might know about 2024-25. Fact is that this sport have sadly been scared over the years and if someone believe it's 100% clean they must think twice.
