I guess the other bosses couldn't drown either because they somehow 'fly', still in place, and not surrounded by water

That's interesting. I assumed bosses functioned the same as any other mob. I wonder if it's only this boss that can't die from water because it's a boss that only appears for a specific quest, or if it's all bosses that are immune.

I feel like if you will make a boss near the water, and you don't want it to die by water, then you'd probably make it immune

I do know Rin Taichu did a thing where they would bait pyro cube into the water and it would vaporize it's shield but don't think water deep enough for it to drown.

i used a tech and found out that most bosses can indeed drown, even ones you wouldn't expect such as childe, they either die with their normal animation or just disappear like rana does so its unfortunately not that interesting

just my guess, i think bosses has different programming in their script. normal mob is killable by drowning but bosses dont. i play genshin around the time that quest magu kenki still not fixed of its bugged revival, it used to go back to center refilling its hp to full as if it has going out of its border if we move abit close to the edge making it a cheating unlimited hp boss for newbies to defeat

@@itsdarkhere im curious if they made the boss properties different or the same in the official server. boss and mobs are entities in game that has sequences activated once they are out of their area. in private server ppl can change boss properties however they want . like in the video, the boss simply activated its sequence to go back and teleported once they go out of area

It'd be a lot of work to patch out every individual arena so bosses can't be ringed out (let alone one-offs in sidequests like this) so I assume they put a flag on bosses to never register the ring out...

Love your videos! Now that we have Chenyu Valley, how about exploring that huge empty area between Sumeru and Fontaine? It kinda haunts me that's probably only water but I can see just one island from afar. I'm very intrigued.

Actually, I have explored there before 4.4. There were a few standout things, such as a giant tree (think Windrise, but a bit smaller) and a valley surrounded by waterfalls. I believe the developers didn't think any player would manage such a feat, so they never bothered to give the drown effect on bosses, kinda of a shame though since in a certain other game its possible to kill any boss by making them fall from a high enough altitude, even on water.

i'm not expecting much because i've tried drowning ruin guards and even completely submerged they live but here goes, i need to also test that again with furina to see if i can get further out. wow 17 seconds in and a ruin guard drowns, like everything in genshin, its always a skill issue. if i remember right, as part of the aranara quest or stone lock quest maybe both, at the bottom of the mountain in the centre of the rainforest is a cube which should be underwater prior to you removing the water, you could try that.

That depends on what you mean by "not moving", if you simply mean "starting the fight then not touching the controller or mouse & keyboard" then the answer is yes. Dehya can kill bosses in that fashion if you give her the 4pc Clam set and give her a lot of HP and healing bonus. As the boss attacks her and knocks her below half health, she'll start healing herself from her passive then the bubble from the Clam set will damage the boss from the healing she's doing all without you touching anything. She can't die either because she outheals any damage (outside scripted one shot attacks like from Raiden and Scara weekly bosses).

I have a theory: In addition / instead of not having drown mechanic, they may have added an invisible platform below the water. It's below because they still need the edge (and thus it's mob blocking) to keep illusion that nothing is there. If you could walk there, that would clear this theory. I know that drowning can be weird. Sometimes an enemy that's fully submerged is still alive, while other time simply touching a deep enough water (i.e. the model hasn't gone below) and they *instantly* dies.

there's a glitch in Fontaine where you can basically walk under the world, I explored it a bit and it seems pretty weird. I would love to see Moosashi test it

Hey Moosashi Its me again with another terrible Idea IDK how twitter works but we're going to gloss over that but I've recently tried to get some quest locked teleport waypoints in Chenyu Vale only to find out that they don't exist, like carp's rest but I'm not worried about that, there is one near and under the ruins of mt. Lingmeng in the wangshan hall secret chamber I believe and I was thinking if possible would it be a good video Idea to try to get all the teleport waypoints without completing the chenyu vale quest? Mostly because I want to try that and I'm missing one, also it may be wise to use out of bounds clipping glitches, thank you for reading and if you decide to do this good luck.

Oh! Also, years ago the combat area is completely broken. It's basically half the size of the circle. Which means you dodging it's attack, or even it doing it's own attack, would reset the fight. And I believe this took quite a long while to patch 🤦‍♂

You might be aware of this video, but there was a clip where Kazuha could lure the Seahorse out of the abyss arena and make it fall to its death, starting the next chamber. Other videos replicating it after this one had the Seahorse teleporting back into the arena after it fell. Most likely Hoyo just added an immunity to OOB/Water deaths to bosses as their patch for this, and instead you just get what happens at 3:00 now. So my hypothesis is that you used to be able to kill bosses this way, but not anymore.

I bet they can't drown, it's only cuz boss enemies have to be programmed to drown. And it's likely bosses aren't supposed to drown (me before watching the conclusion) Damn, I was expecting to be wrong (me after) It would've been epic had the start ended with the same boss, can't wait to see how he does the next part in another year
