A long time ago, I didn’t know how to run in some old Flash-based Super Mario fan games. IIRC, I didn’t even know there _is_ a run button and I got stuck due to that.

That reminds me of when I first played Final Fantasy 7 on the PlayStation. I was so used to old Nintendo controllers that I used the directional buttons to move instead of the joystick. Using the joystick is the only way to run, so I was walking wherever I went. I was wondering why it took me so long to get through the areas! 😅

Man, I remember when I first played smw and I had no idea how to run. I barely got past castle 1 and didn't know about secret exits. Vanilla 1 forced me to learn. In fact, i looked up how to get past it, but i still had to learn the hard way.
