Agreed, the whole purpose of a new car coming out is that it's suppose to be completely different than anything else prior to it, so when they keep making the same hit boxes, it's essentially telling us no big deal, just another dominus instead of being excited to see if the car has some different advantages...

It's crazy that the only game they lost in this video was against Zen and Atow, which taken out of context could be interpreted as "That makes sense, Zen and Atow are two of the absolute best players in the world right now", but with context, AppJack and Tempoh were winning decently and threw last minute.

I tried the Porsche for kicks in Dropshot and I couldn't do a damn thing with it. I suck at the Dominus, too, so it's no surprise. Pretty amazing to watch you just use a car like that and do well -- what's that like to be that good? lol. Great vids!

They should release a PTR where they do a true car body hit box not just complete rectangles that differ in a few ways. Make the fennec actually have a high spot on roof and low spot on hood, octane would actually be a "triangle" I really think that would make things really interesting making each car unique and open up creativity of the player to see how they can make it work and watch the highlights fly with some nutty shots given the competitiveness

Dribbles would be broken if car's hitboxes weren't rectangles. The whole game would just be reset mechanically and I don't think anyone wants that. Dribbles and flicks are one of the most unique things about rl and if they were to go that wuld be kinda sad

The whole issue with “custom hitboxes” back when they were a thing was, Psyonix didn’t have the funds to do research and develop the whole range of custom hitboxes. So they made them all share out of 3 hitboxes. Now that epic owns the game they have the money to make proper custom hitboxes but that is a lot of work to go back to.

What? Where did you get this from? The reason they standardized hitboxes is to prevent Pay to Win. Imagine a car that can only be bought with money having an OP hitbox. Also, there are 6 hitbox types, not 3 (Octane, Dominus, Breakout, Hybrid, Plank, Merc).
