Nice job Ross. I like that mule you got. I’ve been wanting one for years. Perfect little work horse and way to get around on the property. One of these days I’ll get one. Stay safe!

PS. I got the harbor fright tan storage tent out back on my property.. it’s been back there for 6 years! Still standing! Your suppose to remove the snow load from them to keep them from tearing but I only did that for the first 2 years.. havnt done it since.. been waiting for it to collapse for the last 2 years now and she’s still goin. I laid pallets down on the inside with wood sheeting for a floor to keep all my equipment and stuff off the ground and away from moisture

@BiffsEquipment great! And we know how much snow you get! That's good. I don't think we'll get 6 years our of this one, and good to know about the snow load, when I'm clearing my trails this winter I'll be sure to brush it off every once and awhile.

@@RossOnTheLandsure thing! Just bring a broom or snow brush with you that’s what I was using. You can also stand inside it and press upward on the canopy too to knock it down. Your right since yours is in the open it may get damaged more quickly because the wind is the ultimate killer for these over time.. just be sure you have it anchored really good. I used screw ancores for each corner on mine and then bought a 4 pack of cheap harbor frieght rachet straps to tie the frame down on each corner to the ground screws. I also used 2 more rachet straps laterally to stiffen the stricture up so that it wasn’t so wobbly. I put my tent way down low behind a tree line to block the wind cuz I knew that was gonna be the main killer but some people don’t have that option like with what your using it for but I bet you will be surprised how long it lasts! Best of luck !

How's she goin'? Nice job you guys. Putting those things together is a art. You guys nailed it. Just a thought - to keep it from blowing away, use some ratchet straps and tie it to the equipment you store inside it. Ask me how I know this works. Take 'er easy!!

I had a carport for a few years and found the greatest point to f wear to be the peak. I used pool noodles to help and it seemed to work pretty well. Expect about 7-10 years of life before you will need to replace the covering. Nice job.

That's excellent. We were hoping for at least 2 so longer than that would be great. We put tuc tape on all joints to help stop wear so we'll see. Thank you and have a great weekend.

Good one fellas. Neat car port. I’d like to have one, but, I’d say with the wind we get, I’d be chasing it down the road. Have a good day fellas 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋

Hello Noel, I agree and suspect we may be chasing this one as well. We want to get a shipping container. Have an awesome weekend.
@noelstractors-firewood57
@noelstractors-firewood57 3 ай бұрын
Ya, shipping container would be good. That seems to be a popular option.
@RossOnTheLand
@RossOnTheLand 3 ай бұрын
Yes it is, although it would make putting implements in and out a bit harder, side entrances with rolling doors would make putting things in easier.
@noelstractors-firewood57
@noelstractors-firewood57 3 ай бұрын
Yes that would. But could build a long ramp for the end door. Oh, maybe the container is not as wide as the car port. Is that your reasoning for the roll up door on the side. ?
@RossOnTheLand
@RossOnTheLand 3 ай бұрын
More that you'd have to pull everything out if you wanted the implement at the back. Instead of all being side by side.

I am first to comment. The saying goes "I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous!". I have watched North to Alaska on utube. They take their shelters down in the winter due to the snow load. Nice tent/shelter Ross. You guys did a good job. It would have been more fun if you had of thrown the instructions away before you started! 😆😆
@RossOnTheLand
@RossOnTheLand 3 ай бұрын
Congratulations on being 1st! Take tomorrow off. Ya we are hoping it protects against the snow.. and the instructions weren't very helpful and could easily be thrown out.

Dad is left handed too and it is surprising how many things are designed just for right handed people. The saftey for the trigger on power tool is the worst. Great job on the car port build

Did you stake it down? If it flys away it will probably bend like a pretzel on landing.

Yes we have spiral stakes in the 4 corners. Will probably add straps as well. And ABSOLUTELY this will bend like cooked Spaghetti!

80/20 rule lol. It's not fun anymore, someone come finish this for me. 😮 A quick hint if you get heavy snow brush it off or it will collapse. I've gone through a couple. Cheers gentlemen. 👍🌴🇨🇦🚜🍻
