Nep leading on from the comment about how the draft rating is calculated, i think i have figured it out. The draft is split into 4 sections, bench, defence + keeper, midfield and attack. The average is calculated for each section, added together and then divided by 4 to get your draft rating. The first draft was attack rating ~97.6, midfield rating ~93.6, defence rating ~95.2 and bench ~94.3 which averaged is ~95.2, hence the 95 rated team. So would make sense if you had 3 97 rated attackers, to not take a 98 rated one and instead take for example a 97 rated midfielder to bring the rating up. Hope this helps!

I never comment BUT, when you talk about bringing the average of say the midfield or the defense up, I feel like it’s only logical that it’s not about having all the players at say at least 94 or whatever, but it’s only about the sheer volume of good players in the draft, because why would you be able to have like a 95 rated draft with a 81 rated in the starting 11. Kinda kills the theory that you stated

New theory suggests ordering the bench might make a difference..... Assuming the slots are coded as they are picked. Putting the highest rated bench players into the spots that relate to the lowers first 11 average would boost the team

In SBCs, the highest rated players have a higher impact on the rating. The average rating could be fairly accurate to what the draft rating is, but I’m not sure if it’s fully correct.

hey nep, just some info to share about the draft rating, the ratings of the positions of the players definitely matter and in my situation it mattered more then the overall rating because i had a lower rated defender that by putting in the bench or starting lineup actually increased my rating so i took out a higher rated midfielder for a lower rated defender and it boosted my rating up.

So from what I’ve seen nep, it might be a stupid theory. But I think the result of your player selections can way heavily on the captain. From what I think I’ve seen, if you were to take an older promo card from earlier in the year as your captain, you tend to get older generation cards around it from earlier in the year also. So it would be cool to see you try a few sample drafts in which you take older cards vs newer cards as your captain.

Ngl I think you're onto something with the theory. Surely the average on outfield 11 is more important that just getting the highest rated in general for the bench. It's so hard to turn down a 97 over a 95 though, doesn't feel right but it makes perfect sense for the average

I have been thinking about this theory for a while, however I do think the positions in the draft formation do not affect the end ATT/MID/DEF but rather the positions on the facecards. For example, it will show you the highest rated player in each area regardless of if they are on the starting line up or not. Say you had 93 GK vs Smeicheal 97, if you start the 93 instead for whatever reason, it will still show the 97 as the highest rated at the end of the draft in defense. To summarise, in the bench maybe the face card positions affect the end rating as opposed to the actual rating.

If the rating calculation method is actually like that, a striker on the bench probably won't count towards the 'attacker' rating. This could explain why ratings in the starting 11 are more impactful than those on the bench.

Mate did you just forget Lo Celso can go to CAM and CM? You had a 90 rated CAM and 91 rated CM in the first 11 with a 96 rated st and 92 rated CAM on the bench, one of which was Brazilian and the other an Icon which would fix chem too 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think that if you get players like 96 Puskas, 98 Cruyff, or 94 Kroos in drafts you should avoid picking their inferior cards in future drafts. If how we think of draft as a rotational basis, that means picking the inferior cards means you eliminate the chance of getting their respective higher version cards.

I have a question/Theory. If you have a formation with say 2 attackers, 5 midfielders and 3 defenders, do the amount of players and their subsequent ratings change the overall rating. So if I had two 98 attackers would that change the rating based on the average of the players in that position?
