I saw Gary once. He was brilliant. He knows how to run a show. In his encore he got smuttier and smuttier until his eyes lit up and he said “Oh I think I’ve got the measure of you lot. So, I’ll finish with this; after sex I make my girlfriend sleep on the wet patch. You’d like to think that by 11 she’d have stopped pissing the bed.” Half the audience in hysterics, the other half frantically trying to phone the police. Genius.

AT LAST!! Gary Delaney is the best! It's OK guys. He's scared of flying so will only do UK and Ireland venues. He's got loads of clips on KZbin. The 9 minutes on live at the apollo is OK... But his more risqué stuff is on other clips. He's been on mock the week quite a few times too. Thanks. Quick fyi: there was a kids TV show called fingermouse in the 70s/80s where a guy had his finger in a paper mouse.

I have an honours degree in comedy writing and performance (taken as a mature student!) and I have been following Gary Delaney since I happened upon him about six years ago. Great to see you guys appreciate his jokes. Love your style, so I’ve subscribed! Interesting, though, to see that you accept all of his jokes but only stumble halfway when he makes a 9/11 gag. You do, to your credit, both accept and move on from it. But that shows you the power of cultural bias; as much as I totally sympathise with everything that happened on 9/11, as a Brit, I just see that as another joke on the same level as all the others, with no direct emotional connection. Just an interesting cultural observation, hopefully! 😋 Take care, and thanks for the videos. 😻

As well as being a great comedian, Gary is just such a down-to-earth guy. A friend of mine once did a panel show with him, and I got chatting to Gary after the show, and he arranged discounted tickets for me and a group of friends from my comedy club to go and see his headline show. Spent about 2 hours chatting with him in the bar afterwards about the comedy industry and working on TV. Plus he always engages with his fans on social media.
