Glad you got to see us working on the walls, it was a lot more labor really than I wanted but it was worth it. Thanks for watching.

Boys are doing a wonderful job! Reminded me of when my Dad did a similar project and he added footprints of all of his children (5 girls). We all tried to help him.

Look like you were in a mine when the wire was on the walls. Them boys were doing a good job at helping. If those walls try to give if leaned against, you could maybe put some sprat foam behind. That's if there is a problem, just brain storming. Hopefully the water is an on going issue for you. Gonna make lots of storage for you. Thanks for sharing. Was 14 degrees here this morning early. Got up to 42. Iowa is watching

Im not worried about the two long walls or the short end wall all the way in. The clay content is very high and the earth, except for the top soil was not disturbed because there was no original excavation when i placed the a-frame in its current location. I am worried about the end wall closest to the ramp i dug but i will address those issues as they present themselves. Slightly warmer weather forcasted for the weekend. Hope you can find a way to enjoy it.

What a wonderfully hard working family. Kudos to you all! Do you know or did you happen to research anything about the layers you exposed in the soil? The differing colors and soil types in the different strata was fascinating to me. Hundreds of thousands of years, I suppose.

Patience thought it was very interesting to. It appears to be silty top soil, sand, sand stone, grey clay, and then finally red clay on the bottom. On other areas on the property where we have dug just a little deeper there appears to be a layer of white sand and then more sandstone. Thanks for watching.

Probably might have wanted to put some of that mesh in the floor as well. I got to tell you when you guys put your mind to doing something you get er done. How long did it take to get where your at now?

We considered adding metal to the slab but decided against it in this case... small pour, foot traffic only, about 3 inches thick. I think its been about 3-4 weeks since i first dug out the cellar until now. Still have to put in stairs and shelves and move well tank, water pump, and solar batteries by thanksgiving... lol, i better get to work! 😁 thanks for watching.
