I understand your point of view, in fact Nigerians understand Ghanaians very well, so why is it that Ghana complains about it when Nigerians decide to treat Black sheriff as a foreigner now. Why does it seem so unfair to you. You want Nigerians to treat you as brothers but you decide to treat us as foreigners especially now. You ask our industry Moguls questions on the airwaves and they give you information for free. They assist, they push. They create space so we can all move forward then, suddenly they become foreigner who bribed the Grammy committee because they" have money".They simply invested in what they believe in . What you see today took decades of effort and investment.

In proper context, when the policy was introduced in Nigeria, it targeted American and western songs, that was the prevalent sound in the system. Eedris Abdulkareem even pushed it further to ground 50Cent in Lagos and demanded Nigerian artists should be treated equally like their foreign counterparts by show promoters. But it never targeted African songs. Ghanaian songs were played heavily on Nigerian TV and radio, Music Africa a program on Silverbird TV played African songs, mostly Ghanaian hiplife for 3 hours on TV every week day. It came on air at mid day and a repeat broadcast at midnight. Even the D1 and Kenny you see in the video has a record label that signed on many Ghanaian artists, Tic Tac, VIP etc. They were always in Nigeria for shows and concerts. So deaden that narrative! Your agenda now targets Nigerian music, please dont hide under the shadows of “foreign music”! 🦅🇳🇬🇳🇬

You guys need to realize what happens if every country decides to play 100% of their own content. Also, in the diaspora, Nigeria has the highest African populace. To be honest, Ghana will be fighting a losing battle. You are going to appeal to just 6 million people in Ghana, compare to 50 million in Nigeria. On top of that Nigeria has the resources, intellectual property, creativity, and money. I believe if each country decides to adopt this concept, Ghana will lose out. If it becomes a policy in Ghana, Nigeria is known for retaliation, and it spell doom for Ghana’s entertainment industry, just ask your film industry.

Ghana hasn’t learnt anything from the collapse of their movie industry. Their so call music industry is following the same playbook. They wanted Nigeria out, sighting that Nigeria was trying to take over their movie industry. So Nigeria (Nollywood) left and their movie industry collapsed. They are following the same pattern again for their music industry. So Black Sherif wants 100% Ghanaian music. This is an artist that gets 70% of his streams from Nigeria “Foreigners” and 10% from Ghana. Which basically means even Ghanaians are not even supporting Black Sherif’s music with 10% streams. This backward logic only make sense to Ghanaians like Blacko, who is trying to bite the hand that feeds him. There was a time these same Ghanaians were crying that Nigerians don’t support or play their music.

You guys are talking as if all the super stars started big, forgetting they started from somewhere to get to where they are now, some with the help of foreign record labels. Nigeria some years back closed their physical boarders and collapsed a lot of businesses in Africa. Trailers loaded with goods were all stuck on the road with goods. Some of your examples were out of place. We talking about the Arts industry in both countries and how they promote each other. Is TA TA TA a good song? Unavailable? Booty bounce? City boys?
