I did. You didn't seem to mention it in the video, but it says she has a "long nose" at the start of the story when it's introducing all the suspects. That's how I figured it out, after realizing 3SON was NOSE upside down.(I did have to go back and reread it to pickup on that). So you actually don't need to deduce it based on the box image.

The yellow paper also showed how David wrote a capital “E”, so that was a confirming clue.

Great puzzle and it's really nice to see you have fun together with your sister. I know there was a puzzle-series by University games that were murder mysteries as well. They did Alfred Hitchcock, Titanic, Sherlock holmes, Maigret and Baantjer (Baantjer is a Dutch murder mystery writer). The puzzles are 1000 pieces and the box contained a booklet with the story and reveal in a few different languages. Might be something to look into if you are going to make a murder mystery mini series.

I figured it out because they put spaces between "3 S O N" and the 2nd paragraph says that Ms. Nezzensmith looked down her long nose disapprovingly or something like that. Also, she was covering up her arm in the sweater making me think she was trying to hide the hand she pulled the trigger with. I didn't figure out any of the going around the desk stuff and I have no idea why the watch was on 7:35, a red herring perhaps? Anyway, great video. I love mysteries so if you do more mystery puzzles it would be awesome. You sister seems really nice and it was fun to see you guys puzzle together. You make great DETECTIVES.

As a kid, I watched Matlock every day at 3 pm. There was an episode where the victim left a clue that was backwards. As soon as I saw "3SON" I was like, yep I've got it, lol.

Great job, detectives! I expected more students of French in these comments, but I noted only 2 comments who noticed that the French word for nose is "nez", and the killer is named Mrs. NEZzensmith! I'm not sure if that counts as a clue: the text already mentions she has a long schnoz, and this sort of fiction tends to have punny names. A bit too on the nose, you might say?

I love murder mysteries, especially Agatha Christie's books, but I am terrible at solving them! So I didn't even try with this one. I got that the note was written from the other side of the desk because they made a point to mention the eraser was pointing at the body - its an unnatural angle to have set the pen down from the chair. The setup does mention the callus on his finger in the main story, but also the notepad being on the lefthand side of the desk is a bit of a clue as well. Ultimately I got it wrong - I though it was the wife because the planner was blank for Valentine's Day, and maybe the 3SON was an attempt to frame the friend. The Drive files were super helpful, thank you for sharing those!!

I LOVE mysteries! From classic Nancy Drew to current domestic thriller mysteries, I just can't get enough. I love puzzles too, so mystery puzzles are truly perfect for me. A little story, a puzzle that's different from the box, using the clues to solve the mystery. It's just the best.

I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share the story and photos! I worked it out when I read it as ‘Nose’ because ‘Nez’ is French for ‘nose’ I think? And it said that she looked down her long nose. I was thinking that maybe the blood on the type writer could have been the killers, because it said that she ‘pulled her cardigan around her’ - I though they might find she had been injured or something and then had to ‘stage the scene’ afterwards, which would explain why the body had moved 😂 the big question I’m left with is ‘WHY WAS THERE A BROKEN RUBBER BAND?!’ I got hung up on this detail for ages 😂😆 great work guys!

It was really fun to see your sister again. I read the story before looking at your pictures and trying to solve (thanks for the link!). I suspected the solution from the way i saw it written in all capitals and a remark about the killer's appearance at the beginning. And then the clues kept adding up. Of course I couldn't figure out the motive, but boy were they not subtle about clues! And the thing about the victim's hands, I noticed it at once because I was looking for confirmation. Overall the puzzle sounds like fun but too easy, I wonder if the others have difficulty levels like the Ravensburger exit puzzles.

I just finished my very first jigsaw puzzle and it was a springbok! It took till the very very end for me to start figuring out the piece shapes and putting pieces kind of one after another! I enjoyed it quite a bit in the very last 160 pieces!
