When you land in Iran exchange the money and load that in a card, and also to digital payment app, always keep few hundred extra US$ handy, think of minimum expense is 100$ a day, food, taxi, sight seeing, keep a gold item or expensive watch or extra phone just in case you need money you can pawn/sell/trade it.

$100 is a lot of money in Iran. I agree always keep the small dollar bills with you. Do they issue the local card to foreigners? Many European cards don't work in Iran
