We look at three basic examples that show how we can use Pythagoras' Theorem to solve for any of the 3 sides of a right triangle. These examples always involve us being provided with two of the sides, with the third side unknown. But what about when we only know one side? Is Pythagoras still possible? Let's see:

So if the hyponenusa is 25 and one of the sides is 4 cm longer then the other side, how would you propose i solve it, sir?

You substitute x and x+4 and 25 into the Pythagoras formula, simplify into a quadratic, and find the roots. Reject the negative root, the positive root is your answer.

The video shows the only way that can be done using Pythagoras' Theorem. But if you have reached a level in Math where you are able to use Trigonometry, there are formulae called Sine Law and Cosine Law for all triangles, as well as the SOH CAH TOA formulae for right triangles, which can be usd for this. See my channel, or my website, for these videos.
