The new year is not something of a ritual or anything that has anything to do with any specific religion it is only about, reflecting your past year having a moment to think and learn from your mistakes, thanking god for the success, prosperity that you got the past year. Welcoming the new year with new decisions, plans ,goals determination can never be wrong that you'd do. What most people do on this day is making plans , decisions, setting goals, having a nice meal with family. if celebrating the new year means this to you then it can never be something that any god would get angry on you. And for the part of firecrackers...just enjoy them man..your life is much bigger than for you to think whether to watch the firecrackers or not..may anyone reading this comment have a blessed,healthy,safe and. I never liked these fireworks anyway. They are loud, they pollute the air, and it's just a waste of money that could have gone into other more important things. I honestly haven't gone to see the fireworks since I was a child, even tho I live only 200 meters next to a lake where a firework show is held every year. Not to mention that I'm right now drowning in final exam preparations and don't want to waste my time by watching this nonsense 😅

Maybe true in the east. Although Dubai and UAE does? Muslims do in fact celebrate the new year. Now by that I mean they may not go out and get fireworks and light them. But they may watch them and they may invite family over for dinner. If you call that a celebration then ok? But that’s what they’re doing and there’s nothing wrong with that. Myself I don’t like New Year because of Biddah and because of too much fireworks. Fireworks are disturbing my ears, and even the siren of ambulance nearby also disturbs me. But, New Year is the most annoying. And, moderate Muslim should mean to be against heresy, terrorism and violence. Even tho’ I live in my ancestral homeland(Romania), I struggle to avoid celebrating New Year and Christmas despite of facing pressure.

What... where did you get that conclusion? If you want to think like that, then wow, Subhanallah, I guess looking at stars is a form of worshipping them. This is a bad way of thinking just because you look at something like fireworks, doesn't mean you are worshipping fire. In such scenarios, it's the context that matters. If it's for something that has to do with shirk, such as Christmas, then yes, it would be haram. But if it's just a for fun thing, and you watch them once a year, and do not waste every waking second of your life watching them, then it's not haram. Fireworks are not a form of fire worship.
