Brother, I have had the same idea for a few weeks now but I couldn’t figure out how the thing worked! Thank you! I will be downloading those files. Though I probably will tweak them to my liking. I do everything else that way…

Brilliant sir. I was way over complicating what went into the components. I'd really like to give this a try.

great job my feiend , i apreciate a lot , and because of this video i learn one form of how joy stick work's in this rests , today i made my own flags for read the wind , i make one issf style flag , but i will improve in second , i have a caldwell b rock front rest , but has some gsps , flaws and wables , not good for a bench rest , nice to see your criativity , thumbs up , i want to see more upgrades , great video , thank s for share !

Thanks. I'd like to get more videos done but unfortunately more recently my day job has been getting in the way. Hopefully I can get some more videos done in the near future. I've got parts for a newer version of the rest that I need to do something with and I have also taken delivery of some prototype boards for a 32bit version of the EBC that I have to write the software for. I did manage to complete the assembly of 10 of the current model EBC so I did make some progress there.

Have you had a chance to do some follow-up work on the shooting rest and have a newer version? Marvelous idea; worth refining.
@MrBCRC3 жыл бұрын
I'm presuming you've seen the videos of the second version. I'm still pondering how best to do the third version. Unfortunately doing the design work is going to be time consuming so I have been delaying that task. Additionally I've been working on the prototype for a newer version of the EBC bullet sorter.

Absolutely brilliant! I'm just getting back into benchrest and f class and the cost of the coaxial rests are so off putting. This really is game changing. Thank you!

Friction device to contain rifle weight could be an issue mate . Seb actually has s counterbalance weight hanging out the front version . Great work mate .
@MrBCRC4 жыл бұрын
Yes. I observed that to be the case which surprised me because friction seems to be how most of them work from what I have observed. It wasn't that difficult managing the rifle weight (8kg) due to the leverage afforded by the handle but it was a bit tiring to have to hold my arm up to hold it steady. Seb does have the counter weight as an option though as you've pointed out. Luckily a counter weight is pretty easy to do. I could have put one in this if I'd simply used some 8mm threaded rod and passed it right through both of the bearings. As a first attempt I was really just seeing if it was possible. The sturdiness of it, even though it was made of plastic, was surprising. With the elevation reversed the handle actually becomes the counterweight which is how I intend to do my next design. I've got a selection of metal bearings inbound in the post (if the parcel manages to get through given the current situation). It will be fun to see if I can come up with a design that people can get printed and build their own.

Have you thought about using your prints to cast an aluminum version?

It has to do with weight also. So the rest will stay in place and take the recoil of the firearm. I don't think any actual shooter cares whether his rest is shiny or not. No one I shoot with does anyway. But ALL of them worry about the weight.
@MrBCRC2 жыл бұрын
I agree that many care about the weight which is why a lot of serious rests have cast iron bases. But there's a big market out there for shiny and lightweight or things like the Seb Mini-X wouldn't exist.

Hi this is a very great work, is there an stl file we can use
@MrBCRC4 жыл бұрын
There's a freecad design file on my website in the video description. stl's don't readily allow you to adjust for slight tolerances in your printer. With the design file there are no limitations.

@@herukusmartono8960 I actually have a newer design that improves on this one. I need to do a video of that.
