Yes, this is actual Old School Runescape! A Re-boot of a 2007 save file of the game, released in February of 2013. We all started fresh, and the game has been getting weekly updates with a dedicated dev team ever since.

You can AFK through the entire cave with nothing but blood barrage in mage gear and a crystal shield. Costs like 3.5m per run though

My daily routine in leagues 2 and 3 was to start up fight caves and then go take a shower, and then come back to wave 50 or so once I'm done.

You are supposed to use feng with this strat... It hits like a truck and requires zero food since you heal so much more.

Man, I remember before EOC you could AFK fightcaves with polyspore staff and ganodermic armor. The armor had a ridiculously high mage defence so you could pray range the entire time without prayer switching and kill jad with ease. I got like 5 firecapes that way.

Dabe actually made a video on this topic, he was one of the ones who really popularized AFKing Sarachnis. One of the methods he used for the fight caves, albeit more expensive, was using onyx bolts(e) It's basically the ranged version of using the blood fury since the special heals you, and iirc it worked pretty well, but like i said earlier, it's really expensive.

I did this and never had to eat using fang and dfs and never had to bring range or brews. You don't need brews and fang shreads through defense. Slayer helm you wont be able to afk because you'll lose the set effect of Justiciar. I completed with fang and dfs afk outside of siping restores after 360't appear. I got 37 minute kill time afk until jad outside of restore/cb pot sips.

Killing jad on task doubles the pet drop rate, so it's still worthwhile to do it on task

@@astrosurfer but that's really only a ~50% increase in chances (on task kill is like gambling 3 capes total, vs. 2 capes total on normal). If I was on task, personally I'd just say fuck it and use blood barrage or idk, blood burst?

@@astrosurfer The point of this video is to afk though. Slayer helm takes from the afkness and provides marginal dps. Fight caves already so easy you don't need use slayer helm. You can still do jad on task and not have to use slayer helm if you want to afk only sipping pots justiciar, blood fury, b gloves, guardian boots, suffering r(i) fang, dfs, ardy cloak, hitpoints cape, etc is the way.

Was thinking the same thing, or at least regen brace + double heal pray...not sure what's worse to downgrade, ferocious or b gloves down to regen, or fire/infernal cape down to presumably HP trimmed). Wouldn't blood burst be a cost-effective option for this? One commenter said blood barrage was supposedly 3.5m per run.

i'm not sure if task would help, it would make it less afk because if you used a slayer helm you lose the justiciar set bonus which mitigates a good portion of damage

Agreed. IMO, "AFK" means guaranteed 5min absolute minimum, more like 10min. I'm used to 20min AFK at NMZ. The possibility of a 2-3min interaction is by definition not AFK. Maybe using blood burst 24/7 would be truly AFK?

So in short the answer is no. You cant afk the waves or the boss, sometimes you can with blood barrage but not worth trying. If youve got max mage and kodai then fight caves isnt content aimed at you just get the 25 min kc and go again on task
