But the more reliable hint is just staring at the crest that shows up when you cast it - the circular crest with two blades is the Glintblade sigil, while the Glinstone sigil is the one on Terra Magica. Either way, not that important to the run, just cool trivia.

It's a good spell, but it's almost closer to being a trap spell than a pure damage output spell. Area denial more so than spammable damage

@@loredotdll on its own yes, but you pair it with something actually spammable and you can summon your orb and then go to town for 4-5 seconds without having to worry about it. Basically free damage to add on top of your main dps (super busted with blasphemous blade L2 because of the range and stagger damage makes it easier for the orb to connect)

For a future trick involving spells. I’ll use the frenzy flame for example. If you use the seal that boost frenzy flame incantations in your off hand and use a better faith scaling seal like the erdtree seal. You’ll still get the boost of damage from the frenzy flame and the scaling from the erdtree seal. Unless that was nerfed from last time I did it. It’s not like a massive damage difference but it’s like a 100 damage to a 150

I know its been 6 months but using 2 of the same seal is actually better than erdtree seal in main hand and the seal which boosts the type of spells you wanna use, example: i do more damage with 2 +25 gravel stone seals with dragon cult spells than having erdtree seal maxed in main hand and gravel stone seal in off hand

@@Zethios what you said initially was Scouring Black Flame was a “stronger version” of Black Flame (fireball). Meaning they work the same way but scouring black flame does more damage. The latter may be true but the former definitely isn’t true. They don’t work the same way. One is a single target spell and the other is an AoE which can target multiple enemies at once. Scouring Black Flame is slower, doesn’t go as far but has a broader spread. Mechanically they don’t work the same way. They’re two completely different spells. That was my point. Flame Sling & GiantsFlame Take Thee is an example of two spells that work the same way but one does more damage. Glintstone Pebble & GGS (Great Glintstone Shard) is another example of the same.

Litany of Proper Death isn't actually a bad spell it's just that it really only does one thing: kill undead. It has pitiful base damage but absurdly wide area coverage, particularly for its very short casting animation. and that base damage isn't so bad when you realize it does *+500%* to Those Who Live in Death. It's not super useful in this type of challenge run, because there aren't any undead bosses on the critical path, (and area coverage is of admittedly limited use against most bosses anyways) but it can make the undead-heavy parts of farum azula a breeze to traverse, flattening whole squads of skeletons at a time. Wiuld have made deathroot hunting a bit easier though probably When Shadow of the Erdtree drops I know I'm going to be keeping this spell in mind, since SotE will probably have more undead than the base game

The official rot class of incantations also includes pest threads, so it would not have been impossible. Also, lorettas mastery looks like a carian sorcery, which is just a subsect of glint stone sorcery developed by rennalas family. You can theoretically divide spells and incantations down into like 20-30 different classes, but that would just be painful

Rock Sling is so good, I used it as my main until I got smart enough for Night Comet / regular Comet but it's still very useful. Especially at cheesing things from the high ground. I took down the Dragonbarrow avatar from way up the cliff. Lured him with an arrow, took a few steps back when he started blasting and yeeted rocks at him until he reset, then repeat.

He should have used the cerulean tear to have infinite fp so he can hold down the meteors of astel. With that tear you can get huge damage and on big bosses it can wipe out massive chunks of their hp bars

Frenzied flame Incantation like "unindurable frenzy" actually do more damage when you aim them manually at the ground below the enemy since more flames hit (most arch upward) and the ones that don't directly hit explode on the ground for some more fire damage

Fun fact, discus can hit I believe 8 times, not just twice, since it stays in one position and spins like a sawblade for a couple seconds. Abusing enemy AI and getting all those hits in is how to do it, like when Morgott does his falling sword trick

Its crazy cuz when i first started i immediately gravitated towards a godskin build (cool bgm, visually cool attacks n overall Godskin fanboying) and once i got my hands on black flame... literally easy mode for the game. That was the only magic type for this video that ik without a shadow of a doubt was gonna be S. You used it in ng+7 and it still melted everything.

Discus of Light is actually pretty awesome. Best FP efficiency in the game by FAR and huge range, pretty spammable, double hit is great for stunning small foes, it's overall a amazing spell for exploring and dealing with normal enemies. Only... It's amazing at everything, EXCEPT boss fights, where a stationary casting animation is kind of a problem.

Nice video. Was fully engaged for the whole hour. Elden Ring is the best game ever made IMO, but one slight criticism i guess is that despite all the spells, build variety, etc. just spamming pew pew spells turns out to be the most powerful. It honestly seems like a challenging problem to find a solution to and a perfect one probably doesnt exist but at the end of the day its still fun as hell and super satisfying to just nuke bosses.

Tip for Flame of Frenzy, since the missiles spread out in a cone, if you aim at their feet you tend to hit way more of the projectiles, especially on smaller enemies
