Can You Beat Baldur's Gate 3 While Over the MAXIMUM Weight Limit?

Attempting to beat bg3 when you over the max weight limit, causing you to have no jump, dodge, items, climbing and disadvantage on everything can be kind of frustrating.
Sure took a while, hope you enjoy.
At least I feel like Sonic running around in other playthroughs now.

You can actually get the Helm of Balduran. Force a fail on any of the other three trials and the door breaks open, along with about 30 undead, one of which has Auto Spirit Guardians up.

Just a heads up, you can actually fail the lanceboard puzzle, get attacked by a bunch of undead and it'll unlock the door and let you skip all the puzzles to reach Ansur and that helm you wanted. I discovered this just by sucking at the game. xD

I had to walk while heavily encumbered for only a few minuets once when I used barrelmancy to cheese W'wargaz and it was so frustrating walking that few hundred feet to his chamber. I can't imagine how annoying it must have been to do a full run like that. You're easily the best BG3 content creator on KZbin at the moment for both variety and difficulty of the challenges you do. you can easily beat honor mode without barrelmancy if you choose a 4-person pure DPS build, I killed the inquisitor in 1 turn with a monk/fighter/paladin/sorcerer team

by the way you can cheese w'wargaz with just 1 character, just bait all the giths to the door to the temple where the blood of lathander is located and begin to fight, you have to be the innitiative winner but it's not really hard (being gloom stalker with high agi definetely easy). Then you hit them with all your actions and go to the temple and back again. Giths have not enough time to regen up and you regain all your actions including the dread ambusher attack because u technically begin a new fight

Just so you know. Should you fail a trail of Baldurain, a bunch of shadows spawn to kill you, but the door becomes openable. So in the future, you can just kill the wrong agent or fail the chess game to do the fight, then grab the helmet.

I usually play paladin, so my character is typically the pack rat of the group, so I do end up heavily encumbered a few times when playing. Even just a couple of minutes makes me want to scream. I cannot imagine the mental fortitude it would take to do an entire campaign like that. Kudos!

Useful thing to know (this is on the current patch as of March 15, by the by): The Absolute items are a bit wonky. Some work as their descriptions claim. However, others will work or not work contrary to their descriptions. The Ring of Absolute Force works even without the brand. I found this out when I misread the effect and gave it to my unbranded Gale (who was using reverbation strats). I later found out that it is only supposed to work for branded characters, but remembered Gale's reverbation doing 5 thunder damage. I tested it and checked the damage log. 1d4 thunder damage + 1 from Absolute's Tempest.

29:23 fun fact! If you fail one of the challenges enough times, enemies will spawn and the door will open automatically! The first time I did the challenges I didn’t even do all of them, I failed the torch one too many times so enemies spawned instead of challenges so I just cleared them and headed in. I think unfortunately in your run you might’ve locked yourself out of that bc i think the only possible ones for you to fail were the pick a guy to execute and chess challenges.

Rainbow build yeah... I made Astarion 4 levels thief and 8 levels soldier and guess what... This bad boi could shoot with his double crossbows 8 times before his turn ended in first turn... 200 damage in first turn... how? (bonus action from thief, bonus action from soldier and that is 4, then additional attack from regular attack, that's 6... THEN you yeet HASTE on top of that which creates 8 attacks...) And guess what happens if my astarion crits with any of the regular attacks. :3 12 hits on astarion... You can attack even 20 times in one turn but that is not for me to share. 2 soldiers, 1 bard and 1 mage is a broken bad boi build...

most games have some kind of benefit to being overloaded. In Skyrim you can carry as much stuff as you want so you're always prepared. In Dark Souls you can equip the heaviest armour, heaviest shield and a bunch of heavy weapons at once. In BG3 you get nothing. You lose

Funny, I actually got to Ansur and the Dragon's Sanctum by failing the chambers and killing all the skeletons that spawned, then it just opens. In Normal difficulty anyway.

I think you could've gotten to Ansur though. When I first went there, I didn't know what to do with the judge and the paintings and just randomly attacked. That caused me to fail the task and (I think) instead of finishing the 4 tasks, I had to fight 4 groups of enemies. I never saw the tasks in that playthrough, but the door opened after killing some kind of boss iirc.

I also encountered the shovel issue in my storm sorcerer playthrough and here is a work around for it. It requires another partymember though so yeah. You let the other party member who is a magic user summon him, walk through the mirror and then talk to shovel with your main character who is a storm sorcerer but still they get the permanent ability to summon shovel

For the Ansur dungeon, if you get the judgement puzzle wrong a whole bunch of enemies appear but once you defeat them the door is open. On my first playthrough I didnt even get to see the other puzzles lol
