Can You Beat Batman: Arkham Asylum With a Wiimote?

In this video, I tasked myself with remapping all of the controls of Batman: Arkham Asylum onto a Nintendo Wiimote. Will the game be possible? Check out the video to see the results!

You could have 3 more buttons. You dont use left right and down button as often as forward button. You could have mapped those 3 buttons for detective mode and quick fire.

@@splinterchalk Im pretty sure that the only problems would be 1: the L, R, ZR, and ZL buttons 2: motion controls in place of another C stick. 3: L3 and R3. however, doing it this way seems more respectful to the Wii, as it's like taking the controller as intended at typical best: a TV remote with a tumor.

Obviously the official wii port wouldn’t have been as difficult to play as this but I can’t imagine they could’ve given us a full arkham experience on (lets face it) a pretty under powered console at the time. Wii was great for games specifically built for the console but not something as technically impressive like Asylum. Seeing this I’m pretty sure making a wii port would’ve been an absolute nightmare. Oh, and thanks for the shoutout. The vids been up for 2 weeks but I had no idea that was there until this morning. I’ve seen your videos before so seeing you mention me was a surprise.

There’s nothing to prove this, but I like to think the scrapped Arkham Wii game could’ve been a Prequel to Arkham Asylum. Commissioner Gordon mentions how the joker took the mayor hostage before Batman brought him to the Asylum, so imagine if this game told the story of how that unfolded. My only evidence, for this is the fact joker clearly would’ve been the villain and the game clearly takes place in a Gotham rather than Arkham

I honestly really like to use gyro as a camera because it allows the use of the face buttons and camera control at the same time without clawing. I also really like using it for aiming too.

I was honestly surprised how much I grew to like using gyro as a camera. It was annoying at first but once I fine-tuned everything it was very easy to control and convenient

Bro I only recently started playing the Arkham series for the first time so i'm enjoying the hell out of these videos. @deanlennon4604 i recently finished the triology (will play Origins at a later date!) And I was in love start to finish. Not a single bad thing to say, besides the DLC maybe being a bit lackluster (not the additions to Gotham's Most Wanted in Knight though, those were fantastic.) Overall this shit slapped so hard and I cant wait to get my hands on Origins once it goes on sale!

Basically the Justice League are mind controlled by Brainiac except Wonder Woman. Her tiara protects her from mental attacks. Anyway the Batman that is being mind controlled by Brainiac in Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League is said to be Arkham Batman. I’m sorry but the Suicide Squad is not beating Arkham Batman. I’d rather fight Superman & Flash at the same time, than fight him 😄😄😄.

If you want to connect a wiimote to your pc, you'll need a bluetooth adapter alongside dolphin emulator. It's pretty easy to set up once you know how.

I would have played it when I had my Nintendo Wii a few years ago, in those days the graphics didn't matter what really mattered were the moments of fun. I feel like a Wii version of Arkham Asylum would have been similar to the Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spiderman games on the Wii versions.

I’d imagine if Asylum did get ported to the Wii, the quality and controls would very much be like Captain America Super Soldier. The aesthetic would like more cartoonish, but they would still consist of strikes and counter buttons (b and z), evade (a), movement would be the joystick, d pad to look around, and c to aim/use weapon. In Super Soldier that was only the shield, but the 1 and 2 buttons could’ve been programmed to cycle weapons. And for gadgets like explosive gel, z could’ve been used to detonate

I mean most likely a true Wii Port would include the nunchuck for controls, but I can see limiting to Wii mote is more fun as a challenge since the nunchuck adds a stick allowing for a 8 directional movement (which is a lot smoother), D-Pad would change use for gadget change and 2 more buttons one for aiming gadgets and grappling (Z) and one for Detective Mode (C). I think it would be interesting if someone either made a PC friendly Wii Mote and Nunchuck combo or an actual port of the game on the Wii.

I've only ever had it happen once, but he actually has killed me before. I let him corner me immediately so the fight would end quicker, but I was on hard mode and he slapped me around until I died. Might've been a glitch though, since I have always had the impression that he wasn't able to kill you
