Can You Beat Fallout 3 as a Baby? (in text form)
First things first, how do you even leave Vault 101 as a baby? As far as I know, there are 2 ways. The first is to use a glitch, the second is to use console commands. We’re going to use console commands in a bit, but we’re escaping the real way. The video I watched said to put the ball in the left corner of the doorway, walk against the right corner, and immediately close the door as soon as it opens, while also heading into the next room. If done correctly, you’ll have access to the hallway. If not, you’ll be faced with a locked door. It took me a while, but I got it. Then there was just the small task of jumping into the loving arms of the rip in reality itself. Embrace the void, and your next objective will be to escape Vault 101.
Luckily, by starting the Escape quest before you’re supposed to, most NPCs aren’t spawned, so we don’t have to deal with Vault Security or Butch’s whiny mother. The Radroaches, however, are an issue.
Now’s the time to talk about console commands, because I said I would be using them. The first thing to understand about playing Fallout 3 as a baby is that you move slowly. So, incredibly, slowly. I wasn’t about to spend 30 hours playing Fallout 3 just to do the main quest as a baby. So, I used the set game time multiplier command to speed up the entire game. With no NPCs or enemies around, it appears as though I only increased my movement speed, but that’s not the case. Everything speeds up: my movement, enemy movement, the day/night cycle, dialog, saving, everything. You may consider this cheating, but I do not. Everything in the game happens as it should, just faster.
Out of Vault 101, the next stop is Megaton because Amata never stole her father’s 10mm Pistol, so I’m left with only a baseball bat and a bb gun. Also because you need to bring up the dialog menu before you can use your PipBoy. Here’s another thing I did, I installed a PipBoy mod, because without it, your PipBoy glitches through your arm, meaning you can’t see anything.
Well-armed and loaded with Stimpaks, the journey towards Vault 112 begins. This was not fun, not by any stretch of the imagination. Because I’m so slow, I can’t outrun low level creatures like Bloatflies or Mole Rats. Also, because I’m small, my attacks are borderline worthless. It takes a lot of shots to take down even a single Mole Rat. Viscous Dogs are ever harder. Fighting isn’t really an option. The upside to being so small is that by going into 3rd person, I can see a lot of the world around me, so sneaking is a bit easier. Even then, though, I got into fights with the local wildlife. Something else you’ll start to notice is the objects flying all over the place. It’s a result of the increased game speed. They do a small amount of damage. As the game speeds up, they move even faster and will do more damage in less time.
Finally, I got to Smith Casey’s Garage and made my way inside. The radroaches weren’t much of an issue, but I had forgotten about the mole rats inside. The first 2 were a bitch and a half. The other two guarding the basement were even worse. Eventually, many minutes later, I defeated them, dawned a Vault 112 jumpsuit, and loaded up the simulation. Not having time for nonsense, I immediately activated the failsafe and left. Fuck you Robert, I mean, uh, Betty. The extent of my quest-skipping knowledge ended here. I figured that since Dad was headed for Rivet City, I could just follow him. He’d defend his son. And that plan worked for a while.

I didn't try it in this playthrough so I couldn't include it in the video, but if you leave Vault 101 as a baby, you can't set off the bomb in Megaton. You get a "Children cannot use that" message if you try to interact with it, just like when you try to use the vigor tester machine as a giant in New Vegas.

You don’t even need the ball. You just have to make sure you delay your dad from getting into the room by closing the door in his face. Then you just book it past the door before it closes. I did it and beat it on ps3. Biggest obstacle was not being able to see the pip boy but as long as you’ve memorized where everything is it’s not impossible. Finding fast travel spots on the map was the hardest part. And you can reach the panel at end game by dragging a shopping cart up from downstairs in that room and climbing on them.

I’m really glad he started making his videos substantially longer in the more recent years, these super short videos don’t really do it for me at all. He talks about and does so little that it might as well not even be a challenge but just a regular play through because the only negative effects of the smaller size that he even mentions are like three things; the speed, the pop boy, and not being able to reach the buttons. We don’t get to actually watch and see the struggle and difficulties he experienced during this play through. Hell, we barely get to watch any of this play through at all whatsoever really. I know it’s probably a dumb thing to complain and nitpick about but personally if all his videos were still this short then I know for a fact I would’ve stopped watching his videos a long time ago honestly. It’s been almost a year since his last post though and I’m not apart of his discord chat or have him on Twitter or anything but I hope he’s doing well and hanging in there.
