Fun fact: the fire emblem having nothing to do with fire is a common thing in the series, if it even shows up at all. For example, the first fire emblem has the alternate name "Binding Shield", which is used to seal the *Earth* Dragons.

in chapter 21 when you were fighting veyle with marth equipped and she kept killing you with dragon effective lodestar rush, you couldve also just equipped emblem corrin, engage, and use dreadful aura to freeze her at 2 range with the wakizashi or levin sword and whittled down at her since she can't lodestar rush at 2 range. emblem corrin is really good. also since you have pair up with her innately, you could shuffle around other abilities to get more avoid

Looking back on this from the last video about Engage (where some of the clips I recognized), it’s finally enjoyable to see this fully done! This was even before the Well and the Fell Xenologue stuff was considered. I sat through all of the first upload before this finalized version came out and I still got quite a laugh from watching all of this again being an Engage fan. In particular, Chapter 24 (also being my favorite map in this game) and all of the shenanigans broke me in laughter. Glad to see you back Jack and seeing another FE challenge done!

Dang I got 2 hours into the secret video before getting booted out 😔😔Very very glad to see this come out, really love these long form videos to see how you did this yourself since I actually did a little of this myself in an attempt to try to cheese Maddening mode (I got walled on chapter 23 with the Elsurges, curious to see what you figure out!) Edit: Interesting! When I was playing I got a constant swarm of Elsurge mages in the infinite reinforcements which made me give up and drop the difficulty, but I'm assuming you might not have gotten as much or just didn't have any trouble with them due to Griffin Flier giving much more resistance than Divine Dragon. Neat to see!

Dude it's actually easier with Alear solo. Put Lyn on her, get the Corin skill to negate follow up damage, put a engrave for dodging on a weapon and you'll literally dodge everything except for emblem skills like loadstar rush

The only fire emblem campaign I played to completion was a professor only NG 3h run on golden dawn. The only investment my students got was the specific skills they needed to get hunting by daybreak down to a 2 turn clear, other than that byleth just wrecked everything. I feel it's easier to do a solo run.

Just a heads up Jack ^_^ Colour blind people Can't see the difference between colours, it's about how light refracts within your eyes.....One of the types of colour-blindness is called Protanopia, meaning many kinds of Red, just look black, Greens, oranges, and reds, can look like Brown, some blue colours might looks red/purple or like a dark pink, and some Shades of green can kind of look Orange... Imagine trying to mix colours, ( RedGreenBlue/ CyanMagentaYellowBlack ) but you are missing Red as a mixing colour Or maybe you were missing Yellow as a mixing color... basically it can make complete and opposite colours look like slightly different shades and tones of the same colour.

This was a lot of fun to watch! I was cracking up when your game started lagging from all the units on the screen. Tbf, protagonist solo is usually among the easier challenge runs in most FEs. Engage's is a little more interesting due to chain attacks, infinite hit tomes and un-evadable damage from enemy engages, but still on the easier side.

Alear solo is actually the easiest way to play the game. Alear is definently busted if you invest in them correctly

​@@skeletonwar4445 Corrin, the pair up skill, and not waiting right next to a Backup enemy deal with Chain Attacks. I don't even remember what enemies had Dire Thunder, which is 1 range and you can attack them first. For the most part, high enough def/res will let you survive Engage attacks.

I always recommend Sacred Stones to newcomers. It has enough options to enable a lot of different fun ways to play, but is also easy enough for it to be very hard to screw yourself over, no matter how little you know about the games. (All of the GBA games are also incredibly easy to emulate, so they're free) Three Houses does a lot of interesting stuff, but it's one of the more out there entries. So I personally would save it for later.

I did this too, but made the decission to outright let my characters get killed instead of just benching them, just to see how the story worked out... And sadly, the game doesn't change at all! The lords still show up in cutscenes like nothing happened, while everyone else is just... gone..., with barely a mention of their loss.

If anyone not specificaly designated as "must survive" in a map dies (with a few story important exceptions like Hubert), they stop showing up during the talks, and many of the cutscenes become really funny when someone like Edelgard is just making a speech to an empty room before a mission. That's why especially Engage doesn't feel like you really lose someone, as the story itself doesn't acknowledge it for the "randoms", and the lords show up in the cutscenes as normal. Add to that the lack of character specific recruitments, and you don't even lose potential recruitments from killing your entire cast off...

Wille Glanz is such a bad weapon you get it just for the final chapter, its weak af because stuff like killing edge exists and the 1-2 range isnt really much a boon on alear

It's a range 1-2 sword that isn't the Levin Sword... but as such the only things it has going for it are it's slightly lighter and it runs off of Alear's better attack stat. Everything else in a comparison makes the Levin Sword pull ahead as the better weapon even for Alear, however... which is a given, as the Levin Sword is one of the two inarguably *good* magic weapons, alongside the Radiant Bow. Hurricane Axe is situational, but gives, say, a Great Knight a flyer delete button (that retains its flyer deleting property if used with Ike or Camilla's engage attacks. That thing has effectively 60 might against flyers without any forging, and Flame Lance is... actually not worth using unless you really want to run a Royal Knight, as it's literally worse in every way than the Levin Sword, on a weapon type that already has 1-2 options to boot. Not counting the magic knife here as it's a prf, but knives are busted when forged, so you can probably figure out how that one would compare)

​@@TARDISESFlame Lance is actually pretty solid... on exactly Chloe (and Timerra, kinda) since she has a really high magic growth, so she'll end up with almost as much mag as str, and hitting against res is always a good option to have. Hurricane Axe is imo the only bad one, since Axe units usually have such high str and low mag that they end up hitting similar damage numbers using a regular weapon.
