Can You Beat Pokemon X With Only Black Shinies?

Black Shiny Pokemon are the coolest ever made and in this video I'll only be using them to beat Pokemon X! As if the hours upon hours of shiny hunting weren't challenging enough, I decided to also make this a hardcore nuzlocke! What do you think the final team will be? Can we even beat this challenge? Why am I asking you these questions? Watch to find out!
Nuzlocke Rules:
1) Can only catch the first Black Shiny Pokemon on each route (species and dupes clauses in effect)
2) Fainted Pokemon are considered dead and must be released or permanently boxed
3) No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 member's ace (before the start of battle)
4) No items in battle (Held items are okay)
5) Battle mode must be on "Set"

Charizard is one of the few pokemon who have had their shiny changed. It was originally purple and green or something, but was changed to black and red. I kinda wanna call it Charizard favoritism, but some other pokemon have had their shiny form changed such as Arbok.

I know it’s not helpful now after the run has been finished, but shiny hunting the Kanto starters doesn’t require you to battle each time. Just have a party full of 6 Pokémon before receiving the starter. You will be asked to make room in your party and can save at that point meaning you only have a short conversation with the professor each reset. I managed to obtain a Bulbasaur in 2000~ SR’s this way.

Idk if it can learn this in gen 6 but when I used umbreon for my dark type nuzlocke in sword and shield I had it learn sand attack, charm, moonlight and confuse ray. If I had a tough battle coming up I would send her out, get the Pokémon to -6 accuracy and -6 attack then confuse it and switch out. Then I would just boost my sweeper and then take everyone out. It felt like cheating because the AI doesn’t switch and will still play through those impossible afflictions.

Also, I recently figured this out, but when you're soft resetting for the kanto starters, if you come into the battle with sycamore with a full party, after you pick you're starter, he'll tell you to empty out your party and come back when there's room and it makes the resets like 30 seconds.

I think it’s difficult to understand the full gravity of how long it took to complete this. I suggest a reset counter over on the side near the level cap and deaths and maybe a hours allotted counter as well. I know this took ages but it’s a really good video so thank you!

Umbreon is such a meme High defenses, decent attacks, and most importantly - the moveset Ability: Synchronize Moveset: Payback, Moonlight, Refresh, Sleep Talk Payback abuses its low speed for more damage, Moonlight is a free heal, Refresh + Synchronize is busted for obvious reasons, and Sleep Talk is good because Synchronize only doesn't work on Sleep so it gives you the extra coverage for that. You can also sub out Sleep Talk for Psychic so that Fighting type is useless!

For people playing gen 6 on emulator: - You can save state right before clicking "Yes" on selected starter - Use 200% speed - It's possible to run multiple emulators (in this case Citra), and using one controller on all of them. I usually had 8 (so 8/4096 instead) - Eggs are decided when given. So DON'T save state before a hatch. It won't help - If you have a good computer, attention span and plenty of monitors.. You can run more than 8. I usually run 8-16 though. Happy hunting

Tip for using a Greninja in any gen - King's Rock/Water Shuriken King's rock gives every hit a chance to flinch Notice the wording. Every HIT has a chance to flinch. Water Shuriken is a multi-hit priority move, plus STAB, plus Torrent

Fun fact. 1/4096 shiny odds would only be if that Pokémon was the encounter every time. For wild Pokémon, this number could increase drastically for rare Pokémon. For example, Axew has a 10% encounter rate. Out of 4096 encounters, only 409.6 of them would be an Axew. Which means the odds of catching a shiny Axew in the wild is 1/40960 Eevee at 20% would be 1/20480 Honedge at 15% would be 1/27306 He caught all of them in only a few dozen of hours and in only a couple thousand encounters. Axew in 3000 encounters considering its rarity is extremely lucky. TLDR: My man needs to hit the casino, he’s gonna win big.
