Fun fact: Splatoon 1 is beatable without using the Main gun.

You can actually skip world 4 using a 3 pixel gap on the side of the barrier to W5 and one squid, which could massively cut out so many squids

Something interesting about the game is in the octoling levels the octoling AI has for whatever reason similar Data and behaviour to your hero because the devs probably made the octoling AI from the hero and they forgot to remove some of those properties from the octolings so basically if you do it right you can make the octoling go into the zapfish and they will pick it up for you lol and that gets rid of a few squids most notably on kelp dome.

Actually the bomb has a small hitbox so it looks like it was a glitch but it's just the hitbox

Nice video So I was thinking about this and there are two big saves that could be implemented that could save probably around 20-30 (haven’t done the full math so I could be wrong) Fuyu Skip - this is basically a skip in Level 10 which lets you skip almost the entirety of the level by damage boosting to get onto a platform to then activate that inkline by the final checkpoint (I estimate that this would save like 6 by doing the skip) this also works in Boy Amiibo so that’s a save right there as well World 4 Skip - this is a skip ideally you already know about, but there’s basically a three pixel gap that you can jump on to the right of the World 4 exit barrier which then lets you get on the other platform and get to World 5 (I estimate this would save like 15-20 but I don’t entirely have a good idea of how much it would save)

You could actually clear the world 2 octoling level without going into squid form. Because octolings have the same properties as inklings, if you throw a bomb right after you hit the final checkpoint to break the zapfish barrier, the octoling can actually grab the zapfish and you can clear the level without the help of the inklines

I’m a little curious, why not when you have to use a squid, you just hold onto the swim form? That way you can reduce the amount you use.

you usually have to set up squid form using kid form to make it more useful.

"Octopuses" is actually the correct plural. "Octopi" is incorrect because the word it comes from is different than "cactus". It comes from a word ending in "ούς" while "cactus" comes from a word using "ος". The existence of the "ύ" changes the suffix used for the plural to -es instead of -i. In most cases, the -i is only used for Latin originating words instead of Greek ones but "cacti" is an exception since it also comes from Latin. The Latin word comes from the Greek word but it doesn't directly come from the Greek word. Of course, no one is going to shame you for using "octopi", even if it is objectively wrong.
